The teachers are as uneducated as the kids, and it starts in the kindergarten classes....they need to fire them all

How much time is spent on food choices? How embarrassing Middy. The meat in education is not on the menu.

Somebody please explain how ignorant school board members from one of the states lowest performing districts, and some central office morons, and the kids and spouses of board members are going on a trip to California. Exactly how is this being paid for? Did the board vote to gift themselves this vacation? Why would ANYONE from Newport think this is appropriate?

Newport kids and families are getting exactly what they deserve. They voted Sheffle and Smith back in - both seem right up Middys rear. My kids are not being subjected to that anymore.

That's how your current administration gets folks in their pocket. Take 'me places, feed 'me at 5 star restaurants, show 'em a good time. I heard the Mason bunch even took one of your employees with them on a trip to Colorado last summer!

The group packing their bags seem like greased hogs in heat for an all expense paid vaca to CA. They act like they actually deserve it. I bet for a couple of them it is their first time on a plane. So exciting! They cant turn that down. The chance to have someone else pay for a vacation doesnt come around a lot.

Not only should we all know WHO GOES on this trip, but the expenses paid for each need to be exposed.....dollar by dollar. Who is charging on the district credit cards - and for what?

FRANKFORT, Ky.(Sept. 19, 2012) State Auditor Adam Edelen today released a review of spending of the food service fund at Kenton County School District, finding excessive travel and lax financial controls. The Kenton County Board of Education agreed in its response to the review that it is unnecessary for large numbers of employees to travel to the same conference.

The review was prompted after a citizen reported concerns about procurement, travel by district food service personnel, the use of take-home vehicles and other financial related issues. The report presents six findings and 36 recommendations to strengthen district policies and oversight of financial activity.

The review also found that personnel were reimbursed for travel expenses without proper pre- authorizations, the former Director of Food Services circumvented small purchase procedures and that controls over the purchase of fuel were inadequate.
