This person is lieing to you flat out. Michael had 3 trials. Not 2. Michael did not drive, couldnt even ride a bike. The bridge was under construction and it took hours just to get from one side to the other. This is a flat out lie and they know it. There was no witness, and Don Burring screwed the case up because he didnt listen to people who saw certain things. This person is a flat out lier.
When the police dept was lookong into Funk...i was in the 1600 block of banklick driving south.. came up behind the dark blue car with the bumper stickers.. everything like it was described in newspapers...news.
The driver was a male. Greasy looking hair.. wearing a ballcap..slumped low to the door. There were three little girls... 2 next to the drivers door..one over by the curb. They were excited..jumping up and down..doing the oh goody thing...one was reaching for the door handle on the drivers door. Then the driver looked in his rear view mirror and we made eye contact..he freaked..that was when i realized it was the exact description of
the guy they were looking for... he floored his car..squealing tires..scaring the little girls backwards..went half block up and went wrong way on one way on 17 th street east...like an idiot..i went to 18th ..(being legal).. and went to russell...couldn't. Find him...i drove all over..was going to get license #
I lived few blocks from there then..and called the detective bureau.. it was thanks but no thanks...we have our guy...they could have been on the lookout for the car just in case...it was crap. I'm not some flunky...i retired from Covington Fire dept...and was married to the then retired Cov police chief....i still remember the look in yhat guys eyes..it was terror of being caught...dont know if im the hypnotic type for remembering...but i saw the guys plates...just didn't.. couldn't recall them..shame..i think the info would have helped..i just looked at Jenny's picture not 2 days before stumbling across this site...Karma...???? Maybe...

You state you are not a flunky. Ok? Are you saying it was Funk in the car? Covington PD had their man. So they had the wrong man? What does being married to the retired police chief have to do with anything? Does this give you more credibility? He wouldn't listen to you about seeing the car? Did you testify at one or all of the trials? Retired from Covington FD does not really boost your credibility either. There are more than a few loose screws on those ladders. Without all the clutter, could you "simply" state the facts.(as you remember them 20 plus years later). You really went to 18th street? Hypnotic type indeed.

Arrogance on your part doesn't change facts...and i discussed it with husband...got phone number from him.
And it wasn't Funk...and i agree about fd...i have kept her photo that was distributed when trying to find her before she was found...it has been packed away...and
I notified authorities right away...i followed rules of the system..even called later to see if followup...and was dismissed.." because they had their man".... i never agreed that they did..never have.. Yeah Funk is a dirtbag..just not for this crime. I have since moved from the area..going through old boxes and found her photo...just found out on here that the day i came across it was her birthday...so she has been on my mind since..then came across this site..thru a friend.
The guy freaked so bad when he saw me because i was in uniform..wearing a badge.i was part of teams looking for her. Get a life...and, the details about me were for someone at pd to know who i am if they want to talk to me...unless you have pertinent information...you should keep your comments to yourself

Arragance on your part got in the way of stating "The Facts" in a clear manner. A person does not have to state they are not a flucky as if others are beneath then. That is Arragant..
"unless you have pertinent information...you should keep your comments to yourself"
Couldn't agree more. You were not being very clear in first post "non pertinent information" added to clarity issues. Agree that Funk is or was a "dirtbag", but some people here still want him hung after 3 trials.
Thank you for your account, and I will try to get a life now that I have your permission.

“Not a flunky” and yet as part of a team looking for a specific child killer, you, wearing a bright shiny badge, allowed a suspected child killer to drive off with a car load of young girls, because he went the wrong way on 17th street.“Sorry girls but I will obey the law at all cost even at the expense of your lives”. No wonder they dismissed your story..”I still remember the look in that guys eyes ,It was the terror of being caught” Probably not terror, maybe amusement that the city would send one of their best and their best just was no match for the man with the greasy looking hair.
I applaud your story. It would be very amusing, if we weren’t talking about the death of a child. Are you sure that you were not the “little hottie” at the fire dept instead of the non flunky. I am sure that Cov. P.D. would love to hear your story. I hear that “The young and the restless” is looking for a new writer. Good luck in all your future endeavors.

Apparently you aren't educated enough to realize my comments weren't directed to you. Thank you by the way for the hottie comment..
Thought you were wanting facts here...not rhetoric. As your comments to my original statement imply. Merely ANY COMMENT from you should be viewed as gossip mongering.. I'm sure others have viewed you in a like manner.
I was trying to help...not impede anyone. It's sad when someone such as yourself isn't able to comprehend the validity of a gesture without being paranoid as to it's sincerity. However...such is life, and thankfully i have one. And if this is the only forum you have in life to have a voice...then so be it...enjoy yourself. Have a nice day.....(:

You are welcome, I bet they were, and maybe still are, spectacular. Well, that is why we are here to be educated by someone of your stature and daring. We are all flunkies compared to you. Covington P.D. didn’t believe you because they were intimidated by your brains and your beauty? I can’t believe that your husband, being the ex-chief, couldn’t convince them that his little firefly was right and that they had the wrong man (Funk). Was it because you had too much credibility? Please educate those of us that couldn’t retire from the Covington Fire Department.“I’m not some flunky...i retired from Covington Fire dept”. You must have graduated from Thomas Moore or maybe U.C. to land that gig. When your momma told you that you were special, do you know what she meant? You let the child killer go. Must have been your fire dept. survival training kicking in. Screw the kids; I’m going to retire from the department someday.

The girl who made this thread is related to a little girl that went missing years ago and was hoping that someone involved would remember this case and speak up. Why on earth would that make anyone angry other than the person or people that caused her death? So many people hide behind a computer screen and take their anger out on anyone who will respond or carry on a conversation with them. I find it pathetic that there are so many people out there that are really that lonely.
The girl that started this isn't hurting anyone and if I were in her shoes I would do the same thing! I would NEVER give up on finding my loved one's killer. Back in October (somewhere in Ky) a judge signed an arrest warrant for a murder that occured 19 years ago! The brother of the girl that was murdered NEVER gave up and justice was served two decades later. If you google, "arrest warrant issued nineteen years later Kentucky" you will find the story and all of the threads the brother started on topix, I hope it inspires the Iles family to ignore the idiots and to never give up!

"I would Never give up" Right. You would give up because that is what people like you do. Justice is a hard thing to find in this world. Not guilty does not mean that you didn't do it, and Guilty does not mean you did. You and people like you want vengeance. Someone must pay. Guilty or not. The best thing that you and your kind could do for Jenny Sue is live your lives happily not ruin someone else’s life that you don't know is Guilty. The old bag throws out names like she knows something and as previously stated "if she actually knew something she should have testified at one of the trials". I cannot believe that if the Iles boys knew he was guilty, that he would be walking this earth today.

O Crissy, Who are they going to charge? The State already tried someone three times for this crime. If they charge someone else, the defense will just bring up the previous trials that the State prosecuted. More than reasonable doubt. This woman has "Funk" on the brain.
In the 19 year old case, did they ever try someone for the murder? I don't think so. That is the differnce here. The State tried, retried, and retried again for Jenny Sue's murder. I am not saying he didn't do it, but in the end a jury said "not guilty". So if she wants vengence, go for it. But if she want justice through the courts like on t.v. it is just not going to happen.

"The girl that started this isn't hurting anyone".
Are you sure about that. She keeps mentioning "old boys" name. When someone goes "to get some justice" for Jenny Sue, what is going to happen when an innocent person get killed. Will that be alright. Maybe it will be another child. If the court didn't do it maybe you should just let God handle it. He is quite capable I am sure.

First, i want to really thank you for all the compliments...and coming from a total stranger....WOW
And the college training....sorry, but no college except a few classes. The rest of my education is life..something you apparently don't have (repeating myself here)..?
As to my ex...he was self educated with an 8th grade education...overcame obstacles, self educated to have a lucrative career. With his guidance, i have had a learned, fulfilling career...and life afterward. As to his " using his influence ", he wasn't a meddler. He passed on the job to the next in line... so any protocol was their call.
If you are on the fire dept as you stated..then SOP...( standards of operation)... it would be like a retired ff calling to tell you how to put out a fire. Are you going to listen...no..Because of more recent education..and ego.....you won't listen to experience. And the fire dept is an egotistical organization. As is the police dept. Don't get me wrong, it takes that kind of person to be there...you must be young...but more life experience will mellow you and your opinions as to the system and people. What you see on television., well, thats why it is called dramatization. Again though, appreciate the compliments..and i hope the Iles family members get peace. And congratulations on having a career you should be proud of.

YOU are full of crap! Michael Funk lived right next door to my mother at the time of Jenny's murder in Norwood, OH on Elsemere Ave. HE DID DRIVE! He drove an old station wagon. I saw him with my own eyes driving multiple times.
I am the guy that posted about MIKE FUNK being the Babysitter of myself and 2 sisters. He DID Drive. Ive read countless people on here say this and that about what they think. I know for a FACT that MIKE FUNK IS a MONSTER. He IS a child rapist and he WILL go to HELL. I can forgive Patricia and Mary (HIS ALCOHOLIC MOM and PATRICIA his Sister) for being so MEAN to us, But I will NEVER forgive now will I forget what that NO GOOD WORTHLESS SOB did to me and my sisters. SO sit here and say what you will about MIKE FUNK, I LIVED THE HELL, and I know the TRUTH.......... Ron

Why would you embarrass yourselves with such crap? Time for your medication. I had on Ickey Woods panties and no one would have known that except... everyone cause I love to show everyone where my cooter is hiding. Mike Funk never touched my monkey. And he did drive a mean spitter, never would grease it up for a body.
