What do I need to do if I choose to keep my car instead of sell to the insurance company?
I got into an accident a while ago. the damage is about $3000. the insurance company deemed it a total loss. they are going to give me $2800 for the car. Its a 98 Honda Civic with 200,000 km on it, but its still a good car. if i choose to keep it, I will get $2000 from the insurance company. The mechanic says he can repair it with that much money. If i do keep it and repair it, what do I do? do I need to find a new insurance company or get a certificate saying the car is ok? how much will that cost me?
