Looks like the new owners are off to a good start. My family and I had lunch there this past Sunday,we didn't have to wait very long ( which is good for a Sunday),I would imagine this will change when word gets out. We don't mind a little wait if it is worth waiting for, and it was. Food was great, Service was great. BIG CHANGE from previous owners(Flyod's). Keep up the good work!

Had breakfast this a.m. at Fleetwood Diner. I tried their florintine eggs benedict. I was able to substitute a real english muffin for the texas toast that the menu said was the standard for this diner. There was no indication of a lemon ever having been near the hollandaise sauce. The eggs were perfectly cooked, but what destroyed what might have been a good entree was the presence of two slices of school-bus-yellow American cheese under the eggs. This 'cheese' should be ashamed to call itself cheese, and no one out of elementary school should ever be subjected to it. It did not add flavor to this dish; only calories and cholesterol. The hash browns that came with the meal were slightly grey and inedible due to the amount of grease in them. The service was very good, and there was a plethora of seating, which you certainly couldn't find on a weekend when this diner was under it's previous incarnation of Floyds.
I miss Floyd's light and innovative touch, and certainly hope that the new regime learns that Floyds regulars would appreciate a re-thinking of the menu here. In the meantime, the Great Outdoors down the street is now producing an excellent breakfast, even if it is a bit more expensive.

My wife had the eggs flourinetine accompanied by the homemaid hashbrowns on the texas toast like it says on the menu it was great grub filling and priced right the couple we ate with loved floyd's before but love Fleetwood better because it doesn't try to act like a fine ding place in a DINER and rip people off.Try the meaty hippie breakfast it a grilled vegetable medely on top off their homemade corned beef hash.Try the homemaide spinage pie that the owner's mother makes try the saganaki cheese which is imported from greece.

It's not as good as Floyd's that's for sure.

I've been several times now and have gotten mixed results. If you know what to order, you can get a decent meal. Some stuff is just plain bad though.

The eggs benedict is not good at all. The Hollondaise sauce was more like gravy, Texas toast was plain and the American cheese not so good. Eggs were pretty good. The Hippy Hash is good. Meatloaf is good. Didn't care much for the pancakes (dry and flat). Liked a Reuben I got.

I'll continue to go, as it's the best place close to home and I think the Great Outdoors is over priced and has it's own issues. If Fleetwood improves some of the weaker dishes, it could become as good as Floyds was.

Not sure why some didn't like Floyds. I always had good meals at Floyds.

Ok, I have lived in the Alachua/High Springs area for many years now. I have seen Floyd's open and close and The Great Outdoors close and open again.

I was trying to find some helpful information to decide if I should FINALLY try Fleetwood.

Now I am just confused on if I should try them or not.

BTW, the commentor from NJ must have lived here for a while to know that you have to go across county lines to get liquor on Sundays!

I have eaten at Fleetwood and was not pleased at all. Most of the main dinner menu was greek. So I first tried a gyro. UGH! Not good. If you want good, authentic greek food - drive into Gainesville and go to Sandy's Place.
I chaulked up my first visit as a test run... decided to take my kids there for breakfast one morning. Thinking to myself.. "How bad can they screw up breakfast?"
It was bad. The staff on both visits were not welcoming nor were they attentive. Our eggs came out cold. The pancakes were just bad. And sorry for the recurring theme but the hashbrowns were swimming in grease.
Floyds was so much better! The menu was creative and most importantly - the food was good. The staff seemed so much more pleasant and involved.
Small towns like High Springs need more places like Floyds and Great Outdoors who challenge the steak house rep or greasy spoon sterotype. Good food in a good place = long lasting & repeat customers.

I did not like this restaurant. The food was precooked and it was really high priced 20.00 for breakfast that you could only have the food cooked the way they wanted to cook it and not what you want. The staff was not friendly and really slow I know we are in the country but try to move a little faster so we can have hot food,

I heard good things about this diner. I have been there twice and each time, the food was awful. The generic diner salad was the best food item I have seen come out of their kitchen. The shakes are good though. I have enjoyed just ...‎

We drove out to Floyd's Diner because we enjoy 50's nostalgia and the idea of the small diners that our grandparents might have frequented. While attempting to masquerade as a 50's style diner, we didn't see what we expected other than the checkerboard floor. It was extremely loud, as there was nothing to help soften the din of the diners and their children. The service was substandard and the fries were cold. Not worth the gas to drive all the way out there again.

Ok, so even after the comments that I saw here, I decided to try them out. Got a Greek Salad and some of their soup. Both were AWESOME!(The soup was a chicken and rice with mushrooms in a cream broth.) I saw a few plates of what other guests ordered while I was there, and I was not too impressed, however, if you know what to order, or NOT order, then you could be happy with this place. Also, I know of a few people that have had the Reuben and they were happy.
So, to sum it up, soup, salad and reuben are good :)

After I heard a month ago that the food was very good at Fleetwood. One of the friends that had been there took me out to dinner. What happened in month? When the best thing servered was the coke and the salad? My friend has sweet potato fries & fish. The fish were tasteless and the fries undercooked. When she told the waitress about the fries, she took the fries my friend had been eating off and dropped then back in the oil to cook them longer. Yes, the same oil everyone else got fries from. The fries were returned burnt and the waitress argued with my friend about how they looked. Sorry, we know what they should look like and black it not it! I got the turkey, dressing and potatoes. Never in my life have I heard of putting sliced turkey on a flat grill to warm it up. My roast turkey came to the table nicely browned and dry as cardboard. I could tell no difference in taste between the dressing and potatoes. The veggie of the day was corn. Which was cheap, canned corn that they barely had warmed and was staight from the can with no seasoning at all. Gordon Ramsey would have a heart attack in this place. Get a juicier meal, go down to Hardees!
