It's a crying shame that politics work like that. Some kids no matter how talented have no chance at all!!!!!!

Isn't AMERICA about democracy, everyone is equal-you should be selected on your own merit not for self serving reasons of a select few adults!!!

What age group are you talking about?????

I am generalizing all ages included. Every child on a team placed for nomination should be voted on how he/she demonstrates skills both on and off the field. Merely basing a vote because a certain player has a person/coach on the voting board is irresponsible and morally questionable.

The Stanley organization is a crock! They try to profess their innocence when it comes to accusations of cheating, but what they really do is manipulate the system to make it work for them! The entire organization needs to be abolished! Go away Stanley...you make Gaston County look bad!

Go away Stanley...you make Gaston County look bad! YES,YES,YES. A bunch of know it alls ruining it for others. Squabbles among coaches-backstabbing and blatant butt kissers. It makes me want to puke. Revamp the whole program SOON before you lose all the people who actually put in an effort!!!

Just for your info, the 9-10's have a few on the all-star team that weren't even known before the season began. Don't see how they could've been voted on BEFORE the season began! My son has played in other leagues and we have found that ALL programs have their problems. I am proud to be a Stanley parent, and proud to be a part of the league.

stanley wrote: <quoted text>my is one of the two..DS or AK...and he plays AAU Your son must be DS because I happen to know that AK plays for a USSSA tournament team. Why are you trying to hide behind a couple kids so your identity won't be known? How silly. So what is the name of the AAU team that "your DS" plays for?

Go away Stanley...you make Gaston County look bad! I am a proud Stanley All Star Parent of last years winning Dixie Youth 9-10 yr olds. No my son is not a coaches child. We earned every run, WE certainly did not cheat. The same kids are picked year after year, I call them the SUPERSTARS. And last year when my sons team won the division, the Coaches Superstars lost theirs. I do not hold it against these kids. They are talented. I have witnessed coaches, parents and umps behaving badly. The worst was this year when a parent threatened an ump in front of two teams during a game. Each and every adult out there needs to set a good example for all the kids of the organization. When someone does behave badly I personally take the opportunity to tell my son that is the wrong way to behave and hope to teach good sportsmanship myself. Not all of us in Stanley are bad people or butt kissers. I could care less who likes me as long as my child is treated fairly and has a good time. In our 5 years playing with Stanley I am happy. There could be improvements in any organization. I feel there are good people here that have our kids best interest in mind. Please don't think those people you have a problem with are all that Stanley is made of.

All of the coaches kids are going to be picked for the teams. The coaches pick the All Stars. These kids are talented. The most talented should be picked for an All Star team. I will be back next year and love every minute of it.

All Stars are the most talented...LOL That one has kept me laughing. It is all about who knows who-- sure other players are picked besides the obvious to make it look legit--but don't disbelieve that players are not selected before the season begins, if you do then you are living in your own little fairytale looking through rose colored glasses!!!!!

People take any part of a comment made on these forums and turn it into negativity. Take more time and read the posts. I made no statement saying the All Stars are the MOST talented. I believe it says "These kids are talented" also "The most talented SHOULD be picked for an All Star team" I believe there is more talent on any field than just a coaches child. The coaches kids will probably always make the teams no matter where they play. Sometimes a post doesn't have to put anyone down.
