Wow. What a blow to the team. That would put a damper on the season. I was wondering what "routine" hit occurred. Had to be either a shot to the sternum or a neck injury.

Sorry for the family, school, and town.

We did not know Will personally, but my husband coaches his cousin Nathan's baseball team in High Point, NC. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this time. We are very sorry for your loss. May God comfort you.

God is still there and he cares about us all. This is sad, but not only in times like this do we need to stick together and help the family but this is needed always in every family. My prayers are sent to God above for this family...God bless be still and know that he is still God

Here's a couple of links with a few more details...(however scant or vague).

Unfortunately, you can't predict these kinds of injuries because of the randomness of plays in football. This is a tragedy that I'm not sure could have been prevented, though possibly may have been minimized. It's so hard to say.

Either way, prayers and condolences go out to the families, team, hospital officials, witnesses, and friends.

More and more of these deaths are from unknown or undetected congenital problems. The question is why more problems like this, thinning in the gene pools, drugs, or life styles of the biological parents?

ClownMan,

Just to let you know from first hand knowledge of the McLeod family, that Will came from a very upstanding Christian family. It was nothing that his parents did or did not do to cause this tragedy.

God is the only one who knows why Will had to die at such a young age.

I did not mean to imply in this situation, it was intended as a broader statement. Sorry about that. But, if you start looking at the fact there are more events like this happening all of the time.

I accept your appology, and I do realize that there are more young people being injured or dying from injuries.

I just wanted to clarify that his parents were not involved in any of the items that you stated. I know that his sister and other friends may be reading these forums and they may not understand your comments.

We can consider what you said, but we all need to realize that there is a greater power that is in control(God), and if you do not know this I pray that you will understand this. This family is taking comfort in knowing that God had a plan for Will before he was born and after his death.

In Christ Love, Family.

So many times when tragedy comes our way or we here of someone else going through a tragedy people look for fault to determine the cause. Fault whether it be genetics, drugs, etc... is not always the cause. God is in control of this universe whether we like it or not. For those that are not used to thinking this way they look for fault more often then just excepting His will for our lives. Will's life was utilized the way God wanted it to be utilized. There is no fault in that, only glory to God.
