all I can say is that the lady who made this complaint needs to see what her life would be like with out the sacrafices Sgt. Brian Woods and others before him have given. I served in the army and am really peeved. any soldier who dies defending anyone freedom american or not needs to be given the highest honors. because they have left childern behind at times who will grow up wondering where there mom or dad are.

Hoorah for Sheriff Boyer, Seargant Woods, may you rest in peace and thank you for your service, I hope this idiot that complained that she was inconvenienced will crawl back in the hole she crawled out of. She is a full fledged-all out-idiot.

I am glad that sheriff Boyer answered this poor inconvenienced person's letter.
I also am a Viet Nam vet and I would do anything to assist these fallen heroes receive the respect they deserve. I hope after the Sheriff Boyer forwards the letter this person takes action against her if possible.
I really think these people need to be shown how hard our armed forces personell
have it

Being raised by a World War II vet, I am very patriotic. Sherriff Boyer is right. Woods, the fallen soldier is the one who got the angry woman her right to freedom of speech, and the right to send that e-mail. She should be thanking him for that right. As for as the motorcycle riders: They are the Patriot Guards. They have served and were there to escort their fallen comrad home. They had no intentions of causing trouble. I thank God every day for people like my dad, Woods, and Sherriff Boyer who put there lives at risk so I can live in America home of the FREE. To the angry lady, I think you should be thanking them too.

I'm a vietnam vet and I know what is like to be on a military funeral detail. I am proud of all the men and women that are fighting for our country. If this lady thinks it is an inconvience for her to wait for a funeral detail, then she should think about how it feels to bury a fellow soldier or someone's son/daughter. I think that she should be thanking them instead of complaining. This young man gave his life so that she can complain and that this country stays free from terrorist. People need to think before they speak out in haste, because they don't know who they may hurt. I hope that she realises that her complaining only made things worse, instead of better, because the guards were not going to let her through for any reason and I am proud of them for what they have done.

shame on this women for showing such disrespect to this fallen soldier and his family.. How dare she complain about being held up in rush hour traffic, when this man gave his life for her and all of our freedom. Its makes me sick that someone couldn't take a few minutes to show respect to this soldier but can spend time fighting with one of the freedom riders and writing emails to complain about this situation. She and all that witness this procession should have stepped out of their cars lowered their heads, and said prayer for this fallen hero and his family and thank God that it was not their husband, son, or brother, that lost their live for our freedom.

I was one of the fifteen young men called upon to fill the Jefferson
County draft quota for May 1952 and went on to serve 22 years in
the Army. Altho I never met Sheriff Boyer, I am very proud of the
way that he dealt with this situation.

congrats for standing up to this stupid idiot lady who has no respect for anyone!!!!! she should have to do a puplic appology to the family and citizens of jefferson county. how would she have liked that to be her brother, father, husband, uncle or loved one and someone said those nasty hateful things regarding her loved one who had died in line of duty serving her country. she is probably not even american and thats why she is so hateful!!

Sheriff Boyer is a very upstanding man and he always seems to shoot from the heart. This is a fine example of that! The inconvenienced motorist must never had a person in the military, much less had to attend a military funeral because of a loss of life in a war. The women needs prayers for patience and for her to support our troops! Also, how can someone see such a sad sight and get mad about some time she lost. Our young military man that was being escorted home lost his life defending her so she can make stupid statements as she did. I pray that she is truly ashamed of herself now!

I am writing this comment for my 7 year old son Kahless, who just happened to settle down long enough to hear the 6pm rebroadcast of this story. He caught his breath in a gasp and turned to me with his mouth hanging open, chin on his chest, and made me cry when he simply said, "That lady is just plain mean. That man died for our country, so she must not like our country. All she cared about was getting home fast." He had the most emotion filled, reaction I have ever seen him give. I just wanted to let his opinion be heard.

personally, I could care less for this woman's complaint. Her time is no more valuable except to her. Someone gives the ultimate sacrifice for her to express her option, and she disrespects him and his family for his devotion and loyalty to this country. She wants a slap on the wrist, let her wrist be the first to get slapped.
My son has a friend who is in Iraq at this moment. What does she think of those who are fighting for someone else's freedom. I'm sure she doesn't even regret what she wrote or said. If any apologies are forth coming to her, she has a long time to wait. No one deserves to be treated the way she treated that family.
