CalTrans needs to put a stop light--- How many more families need to loose a loved one! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

Yep, more people will die there! It was bad design just like Butts Canyon Road and Hwy 29. too many people for small area roadways!

This is very sad. Last August as I left the county for a wedding in Santa Cruz we travelled past a terrible accident caused when an elderly man crossed Hwy 29 leaving Hidden Vly. We found out later that day he and his wife died. He drove his car into the direct path of a man driving down the hill and he could not avoid hitting them.
Perhaps stop lights do need to go in on these roads leaving Hidden Valley for everyones sake!

How could anyone read this article and come to the conclusion that what we need is a signal! What we need is a drivers test that a one eyed chimp can't pass. This is disgusting. If "look both ways before entering an intersection" is too complicated for you then the problem is you, not the lack of a traffic light. We don't need a light. What we need is for this old guy to be prosecuted for manslaughter!!!
Our seniors think that their ability to keep the DMV from taking their license is some kind of a F****** game. Locking up a few of these killers might help to put a stop to this insanity!

It doesn't matter the age of the driver....people are just not paying attention when preparing to pull out on to the Highway ! This time it was a man in his 80's and a few weeks ago it was a girl UNDER 18 who I might add was NOT supposed to be driving with ANYONE in her car !!!!! We DO NOT need a stop light on a MAJOR highway !!!!!!

people are incredibly impatient at the Hartmann Rd/29 "T"-- pretty scary to see what people risk in the mornings on the way to work!!

yes a stop light would be great at both places . the butts canyon road & 29 is bad because it is hard to see when cars and trucks go faster then they should . but only time any thing will be done is when a few more die in the next year or so .

Wrong you are!

No drive test needed. People are not paying attention or they are drinking. Four air lifted by chopper yesterday. Answer this Sam

Why are there more deaths on Lake COunty Highways in the past three months, at this rate. One death per week now.

All of you are disgusting. Angelo was turning left from Hartmann to Hwy. 29 and the guy approaching had his right signal on. Now who is at fault. It was not Angelo's although maybe he should have waited to see if the guy was turning or not.

I have never heard a more insensitive comment in my life. You should be ashamed of yourself. Just because you have 10 fingers that can type on a keyboard doesn't mean you have all the facts straight.

He thought the road was clear and pulled out. It was not safe to pull and as a result of his mistake there was a horrible wreck resulting in the death of his passenger. Did I miss something? Maybe you could enlighten us.

Unfortunately DMV bends over backwards to keep elderly drivers on the road. At least they did with regards to my MIL. She'd had so many accidents including rear ending a Sunnyvale cop at a stop light. The turn lane started to move, so did she, but she wasn't in the turn lane. Finally she ran a red light and broadsided a school teacher in an SUV with his daughter, thankfully they were not hurt but that 67 Mustang sure was. The only thing that got her off the road was our refusal to pay get her car fixed.

I hope everyone slows down a bit and pays more attention to the road - don't just look at the car in front of you, try to see farther down the road. And remind your kids - there is no reset button in the real world.
