after reading most, if not all of these posts, something very fucked up is very clear. most comments that go on for more that a sentence are by people who probably dream about cutting the hands off of thieves who stole food to keep from starving. not that vito's accident is in any way on the same level, but it's a direct correlation to the power trip that they WISH they could go on. It takes a conscious effort for me to NOT type what they deserve. It's sickening that people think they know who deserves to die/do prison time/anything. i would bet MY LIFE that if i were to follow you around for a day i could tear you apart with things you do wrong. what....you think your life won't hold some accidents??? your life's not over and judging by how you idiots act...when you do make a mistake that affects anothers life...you'll be too high on yourself to admitt it. believe me you'll think of why you're "NOT AS BAD". its B.S. i wish nothing but the best for all. even if you act like an asshole annoymously

Cops: Victim in alleged DWI car crash fighting for his life

BY PATRICK WHITTLE | [email protected]

7:05 PM EST, March 1, 2009

Police arrested a Syosset man on charges of driving while intoxicated after a crash early Sunday that left a New Hyde Park resident fighting for his life with critical injuries.

Vito Coppola, 22, of Saturn Court, struck a tree after he lost control of his vehicle on Woodbury Road in Cold Spring Harbor at 3:10 a.m., police said.

Passenger Chad Sinito, 28, suffered severe head injuries and was transported to Huntington Hospital, police said.

Another passenger, Sinito's twin brother, Jarret Sinito of New Hyde Park, was treated for a broken arm, while a third passenger, Brandon Rappaport, 22, of Hicksville, sustained a head injury, police said.

Coppola suffered minor injuries, police said. He was held by police overnight before his appearance in district court.

Police said the incident is still under investigation.

__________

I am assuming that no news is good news and hopefully Chad Sinito is on the road to a full recovery?

You know whats sickening to me? That many people think nothing of ingesting any amount of alcohol before getting behind the wheel of a car.

Perhaps you are not aware that many people who post on these boards have been required by law to judge the conduct of their peers.

Joe, how about you tell us what kind of punishment should be dealt out in this case?

I say Vito Coppola should be sentenced to 20 weekends in jail; with ten weekends suspended as long as he stays out of trouble for five years. His driving privileges should be fully REVOKED for a period of one year at which time he will have to reapply for a brand new license. Additionally, he should be fined to help defray some of cost taxpayers spent to prosecute him.

Finally, his insurance premium should be tripled for five years and he should be required to make monthly payments as a reminder that he injured and almost killed some people.

After they fully recover, the Sinito brothers should take responsibility for their actions and admit to their mom that they are just as responsible for the drunken crash as Vito is.
yup

all of you are just angry, and stillllll just wishing you could administer vigilante justice. i'd hate to side with people who've mentioned karma, but i dont think any of you are "perfect" and i use that term loosely. i wouldnt presume to say what i think should be done to or with vito because i havent gone to years of law school. have you?? if not...you should. Use the death penalty....lethal injections to people that have caused unintentional agony to others. put them in the same category with people who plan and execute murders. sound good? you'll probably say yes....why? because you think like a 14 year old king who just wants their word to be the deffening word of god. CHILDISH ANGER. i understand the feeling, and my head isnt up my ass...its beeing used constructively instead of having an adrenalin rush "via internet" which is pretty pathetic of grown men.another term im using loosely. wanna vent your oppinions???? talk to a friend, a girl friend, who ever. this entire message board, and all those who post comments like u F****ing losers are the tip of the iceberg as to how emotionally disturbed somepeople are. And to add a little school yard childishness to the mix just to humor myself....i knew vito in highschool. not only is he a good kid with probably a brighter future than you computer rioters.....He'd probably kick all your asses if you were to say these things to his face hhaahh that would be some justice if I've ever heard it

Nobody was PUBLICALLY INTOXICATED.. When they drink they always call us to pick them up; and we do, only to go back the next day to get their car.
Hmmm...let's see...they were in a PUBLIC place...and they were INTOXICATED. Ipso facto, PUBLIC INTOXICATION.
And obviously they don't always call you when they drink or they wouldn't be in the hospital now, would they?

Oh, whaaaaaaa!

Accident:

The result of one (or more) individuals doing something stupid such as speeding, reckless driving, blowing red lights, blowing stop signs, driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired, and texting while driving - otherwise known as driving while inTEXTicated, to name a few.

If you happen to be doing one of these stupid things while driving when all you really should be doing is paying attention, remaining alert, and enjoying your privilege to drive, the chances are, you might not have an accident or as I like to call them, a stupid moment.

One doesn't need to be "perfect" in order to not maim oneself or ones friends by driving after a night of heavy drinking.
