"HICKSVILLE, N.Y.(AP)-- A witness says a dispute that brewed in a Long Island lounge sparked gunfire outside a hotel next door, leaving one man wounded and bystanders scrambling for cover.

Nassau County police say two people are in custody after the mayhem around 2:30 a.m. Friday outside the Days Inn on South Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville. Police say the victim was hit in the arm.

Days Inn front desk clerk Chris Boody says he was standing outside when two men were thrown out of the lounge. He says he saw a hurled bottle, heard a bullet, ran into the hotel and ducked while calling 911.

Boody says no hotel guests or staffers were hurt.

A man who answered the lounge's phone said he had no information about the incident."

This is a seedy hotel where a lot of the Craigslist hookers hang out at. Its always been a location where you can find drugs too. The county should just close the place down, its an absolute sewer of a hotel, and the "nightclub" looks nothing like the website photos. Its a dump too. Which is why the only way to get people in the door, in Hicksville, Plainview, Bethpage are is to host a Hip Hop night. Nobody from the community wants to go here, it isnt a safe place.
