I too sampled Patty Joes in Kings Park and loved it. Kings Park has for a long time been in need for a restaurant muck like Patty Joes. A place where you can get a good steak or q quick burger. My husband unfortunatly hates Italian food and I am sick of big chain restaurants and diners just don't do it for me so for us this place is perfect. The kids meals come with a drink and dessert so it doesn't break the bank. If you stop in try the crabcake appetizer they were really really good. I can't wait to go again and try the BBQ---soon enough!

Patty Joes is awesome. I did not expect a place like that in Kings Park. I was blown away. We have eaten there twice and got lucky to get a table, but on the third try is was so crowded, and we are now on a mission to go back with some of our friends. I heard they will be serving alcohol soon too. Nothing like a cold beer with some ribs!!! I wish them luck. This town needed a place like this.

All restaurants in kings park are absolutely horrible. Ciro's is overpriced and simplistic. Hokey Pokey dinner is waaaay overpriced for mediocre food. Cheonyaya Thai has great atmosphere, but doesn't offer many popular thai dishes. Golden River chinese food should be condemned the food is so bad. When Patty Joe's spent six months waiting to open, we were so excited. But our food was burned to a crisp and the service was the worst I've had in a long time. Maybe they've gotten better since they opened, but I still won't go back based on that one experience. The Kings Park crowd isn't the type to appreciate or recognize fine cuisine if it lands on their heads.

When I went the service was really slow, the fries were burnt and cold, and the staff acted like they couldn't be bothered.

Really.... And to think you said they was good back in April

It's so sad to hear....99% of all business that goes out of business is b/c of bad Customer Service and bad attitude from the employees not giving a dame if the business makes it or not

I feel bad for the owner, I'm Sure he had a good Idea

Why on earth would a minimum wage employee care if the business succeeds? so they could keep their crappy job? When I went to Patty Joe's they were disorganized - so much so that they even undercharged me a large amount for dinner - I was so disgusted with the food and service I didn't even point it out.

This is when Management comes into play

Hire individuals that want to work for the minimum.

Have some type of incentive for the workers.

bonus, free this -free that, make it fun to work there....I bet if they were to offer the best worker a round trip ticket to Miami Beach(which would only cost $200 while ensuring thousands from the revisits of satisfied customers)they would work their tails off

I would blame the manager and then the owner for hiring such a crappy manager.

and then fire the cooks and hire individuals that can really cook

Some people have too much time on their hands......

Give me a break the place just opened - does everything in life always run smoothly - give them a chance to work out the kinks before you shut them down!

I work in a restaurant in Northport...I take offense to to what Bupkis says. First of all you make less the minimum wage but your tips make up for it!! Anyways the point is I'm a waitress and I'm always a patron advocate, I care if the restaurant I work in succeeds it's your bread and butter! I also ate at Patty Joe's but it was for lunch I thought it was decently priced...the food was good...it wasn't 5 star but a 5 star restaurant isn't going to last in an area like kings park because 5 stars cost big bucks and families can't afford big bucks all the time. For the type of restaurant it is...family oriented a place you could afford to eat at once a week it's a good place! I though the food was good!

No, I won't give them a chance because they should have ironed out the kinks before they opened! I understand the owners had a death in the family, and that's a very sad and tragic thing - my heart goes out to them. But at the same time the restaurant sat there for several months, unopened. That time should have been used at least training one chef who knew what he was doing. You do not open your doors until you're ready to give the public your absolute best. I could understand minor kinks like service and maybe some menu items being unavailable, but if a plain burger and fries is horrible, why should I give them more money in the future?

And I'm not looking for 5 stars in Kings Park, beleive me, but something dependable and a good value for the money would be great.

And I don't think they'll close - every other restaurant in KP is horrible and they seem to be doing record business!

I loved Patty Joes. Finally a place that I can sit down and enjoy my food because the kids like it as much as I do. They have a great atmosphere and they are very in to making the customer happy. I was there once when it was alot of kids in the dining room and the owner put on Nickelodeon for the kids and just recently on a Friday when mostly adults where there on went baseball (made hubby happy), If you look at any restaurant on the boards there are mixed reveiws. As much as an owner strives for consistantcy it just doesn't seem to always happen. I must say, we have been there a few times and have had only positive experiences, one of the owners works the floor and always asks how is everything. If you really don't like something speak up, I bet they would want to know. I personally have not had to speak up. I loved it every time. Our town needed a place like this, I can't wait to go again.

My husband and I tried Patty Joes once and will now go back for a second time. The decor was very nice and the food very good. Next time we will probably do take-out. All in all we are glad it is here and we hope it stays.

Have been to PattyJoes many times. The service is usually slow but the food is worth it. The price is reasonable.

Patty Joes had a coupon for buy 1 entree get another free. We ordered Petite Fillets from the regular menu which were 16.99 each but were told the coupon is for a special menu - which was the very same entree for 19.99 !
Isn't that against the law? I guess I'll call Consumer Affairs & Better Business and ask them!

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Patty Joe's , we eat there quite often , a I work down the block . The food is awesome and the sweet potato fries are the best around !
The service speed has greatly improved since they opened . I never wait more than ten to fifteen minutes for a take out and have not waited an unreasonable amount of time for sit down dining either.
The owners are very friendly and ready to please . The menu has excellent choices and the specials are always very interesting .
The prices are quite reasonable as well.
I and my family will keep going back.
