This thread is basically dead. I think you've got it backwards though. I cannot believe that anyone who calls themself Christian, or even of faith would tolerate anyone who would make fun of another person's faith, wherever you make fun of God, Jesus, Mary, jewish customs, or islamic traditions. These "acceptable" practices cascade into teenagers spraypainting swastikas on synagogues, people spewing religious and racial intolerance, and all sorts of things. Again, this thread is over - the schools aren't going to be saved, although we knew that in the beginning. Good luck.
I believe has Jesus said, brush the dust off your feet and move on, when people mock the father. Preach, but don't push.

I seriously doubt what you wrote here. If you did, you would not stand for heretical comments about fairy tales. you are a disgruntled ex-Catholic, and it's too bad you couldn't just find happiness in another church. There are 1.9 BILLION Christians in the world, another 1.3 billion Muslims who also believe in God. That's more than 60% of the world right there. You can choose to believe in whatever you want, but to mock other's beliefs is one thing - to mock God is blasphemy.
Firstly, Vor, I want to agree with you wholeheartedly that to mock God is blasphemy. Disgruntled ex-Catholics or Protestants for that matter are invited to attend a service of the New Apostolic Church (which is over a century old) in Uniondale, corner of Front Street and California Avenue, at 10:30 am Sundays and 7:30 pm Wednesdays. You'll be moved by the friendliness of the congregation and you will return to religion, as I did.

North Merrick sacred heart closing, this is good thing. save the public schools some $
Public schools still pay for Catholic school, books, bus service and allot of other stuff that comes from public schools budgets and local Tax $
....People who use Catholic Schools still pay their school taxes, so the cost of books and bus is not taken away from public schools. If public schools were more into education rather than social engineering and politcal correctness, people wouldn't have to pull their kids out.

See above comment on New Apostolic Church. Get your feel for religion and God back.
