Oh Jacquelin Jager, it's so painfully obvious that you're one of Obama's drones. Rich people are evil right? How dare they earn money and amass wealth! They can't have more than I do!

That's just want Obama wants you to think.

However, the reality is (bare with me, I know how much you drones hate facts) that the Light House project will create jobs, housing, and, more importantly, keep the Islanders on LI, which generates thousands and thousands of dollars for the county every year.

"I think the Lighthouse plan should be shelved ["Board to vote on Lighthouse Plan," News, Feb. 24]. If Charles Wang has billions to spare, let him build low- to moderate-priced housing. Let him help out the pantries that are having trouble feeding the homeless and needy. Let him give money to museums and parks so they won't have to close"

Perhaps he is not a socialist, looking to pass on all of his wealth. You see, if he builds this, creating jobs, creating housing, creating income for the town/county/state it is a win-win situation. What you seem to want is to 'give away his money' with no strings attached.

How do you know that he doesn't already give to the homeless shelters, food banks, etc etc?

There are people in this world that truly need assistance when they fall on hard times, however, it is assistance, it should be temporary, it is not a long-term solution.

So you stay in your world expecting handouts and the rest of us that are tired of giving them to the undeserving will live in our world wondering why everyone thinks success comes without hard work, failure and setbacks.

I am very disappointed in my representative Congressman Gary Ackerman (along with Congressman Jerold Nadler from New York) to hand over $475,000 of our taxpayer's money to "improve and expand" the Italian American Museum in Little Italy whose board is known to run the museum like a private corporation. Every taxpayer in New York State should protest to their elected official's in Congress and the U.S. Senate against this wasteful use of tax payer's money.

They elitist at the museum do as they please without any Federal, State or Local Regulation's even though they collect money from corporate sponsor's (tax-write-off's that would other-wise be used for public use) or public taxpayer money. This a non-profit public money sucking coffee clutch pat-on-the-back organization who discriminate against those Italian American artist who have no connection's, or are rich enough., or a part of their inner-circle.

The money would be better spent on security to protect Fort Totten in Queen's New York.

President Barack Obama should not allow any public money to go to this museum, especially during these tough economic crisis.

Minister C.J. Di Donna, New York, N.Y.
