Cities take a bite out of sweepstakes market
The General Assembly tried to ban the businesses, also known as Internet sweepstakes cafes or parlors, but the ban was set aside by the courts.

Great business sense. More places closing, more people losing jobs, more empty buildings . Makes great sense

Whoever thinks they live in a free country is a fool. Funny how sweepstakes were "immoral" until the cities figured out how to profit from them. Now the business is fine as long as owners hand over the extortion money to the cities and state. NC has to be one of the most non friendly business states in the nation. No wonder big business dodge us, they would be a fool to relocate here.

why does a state that runs the lottery raise so much trouble over sweepstakes..guess it is cutting into the states money and they dont like competition, so use the strong arm of the law to tax them out
