Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says the vehicle collided with a Union Pacific freight train around 10 a.m. Monday at a crossing north of Hiawatha.

I must agree. If you were not there than don't be starting rumors. Small town bs as usual. Let their souls rest at peace. My condolences go out to both families involved of losing a loved on. Such a tragic accident. I get so tired of ppl starting rumors in fatality accidents everyone knows they think they know exactly what happened. Only ones that knew what was going on where the victims of this tragic accident. Rumors do nothing other than hurt others. Thoughts and prayers for both families.

He always helped anyone out charitys and etc. He gave me a ride home one day after work in the snow. I was grateful for that I known him for years. Piss on what people think we know how he was. I only wanted to know how the accident happened, not gossip about the people involved, I do not know them. I did not start this topic, the newspaper in Manhattan placed this here.

I must agree to this post. Both families have lost a loved one. And a loss for a community as well. Both families have to live with not knowing exactly what happened and a lot of unanswered question. Don't you think that is enough. Please if you have nothing good to say than keep your comments to yourself. Let these souls rest in peace and allow the families to mourn without a bunch of negative comments. Why do people have to be negative when the person is not here to defend theirselves. Completely ignorant. God bless the families and the may they have peace without all these bad comments. Such a tragic event to go through. God bless all of you

I agree with this. I don't believe I ever even seen anyone blaming "him" for saying that before he got all defensive. Yes someone said you need respect yada yada to the person "posing" as him, but instead of getting all defensive why not just say "hey look, I understand why you're mad but I just want to say that there is some idiot going around with my name, thats not me." EVERYTIME I see him defending himself it follows almost immediatley after the other "Eric". AHHHH Its soooo crooked.. only in Hiawatha... with that said

Tee and Veronica, RIP. I did not have the pleasure of knowing either of them, however we all had mutual friends, and I know they will both be sorely missed!!!
