Nice lady, in over her head. But with some of the imbeciles we have here in TC, she doesn't stand a chance!! Need a seasoned, tough SOB to come in and "kick a$$ and take names"!!

It really does not matter until the School Board is removed. They prevent anyone from doing the right thing if it effects there friends and family who work for the school. Years of hiring unqualified teachers and staff has taken the school to the bottom of the barrel. Two ways of getting a job in TC. 1. Be related to a school Board member. 2. Have a kid that can play football.
Behrens buried the academics in TC in favor of creating his Special Education shrine. The retired old lady crew sucked all the funds up that should have been spent on quality teachers. We have the most over paid coaching staff in the State for what they produce. Read www.Hellawassee.com and you will get a better picture of the real happenings around here. Not just in our schools.

If teachers are not getting paid for 190 days of work (only 186 this year)...the money comes from the state....what happens to all the money for each teacher times 4 days of pay that comes from the state? What is that money used for? Just thinking....

Some teachers really work hard and some don't. That is the way the world is...sadly. Just think about where you work...some do and some don't. Parents must be involved - not just when your kid gets into trouble. Every school night - every day.

Did the superintendent really get a pay raise? A statement in another thread said this...can't be!

The extra money is used to pay the salaries of all the administrators who are related to current or former school board members. Look it up on line. Highest paid Administration costs per number of students in the State. Look at the last names. Look at former school board members. Hmmmmm the same names keep popping up.
I see Gibby is running again. He must have some more friends and family to stick on the payroll. Just what we need. One more senile old bastard in elected office. I'm afraid its going to take a few funerals before things get better here in the County.

Parents can't get involved...the school board and superintendent won't listen to them.

I give her an F. You can't pull the wool over my eyes. Look at last weeks paper. She cut 10 or 12 teachers. Did she cut any non-teaching personnel? no. She could have cut one or two in the main school board office...but that would be cutting her friends or friends of the school board members...got to keep the locals....

Most of those who got cut didn't teach. They just wondered around the halls all day double dipping with their retirement pay. Another one needed firing. Showed porno movie to 11 year olds and bunch of other crap. They need to fire about three in the School Board office. Start with those with the same last name as former School Board Members.

And they need to cut some of the technology workers too (they fix the computers). That one man that retired but comes back and works on contract is on contract for a big sum/per hour. I think we could cut a full time worker there as well....but they are locals, so there might be a rule that we can't cut them.

Did you also notice in the paper that she's trying to hire qualified classroom teachers from the "outside" for two(!) core subjects? That's not a good sign.

They are looking for a softball coach who can teach something. They have so many study hall and gym teachers on the payroll now who coach football they can't afford to hire another one. I give the little lady a C because she is trying to do the right thing in some cases. She will be gone in another year. At least she broke up the retired teachers club. Now, if she cleans up the boys sports programs and stops that craziness I will give her an A. Biggest collection of loser Coaches in the Southeast. Their records speak for themselves. Check it out at GHSAA. Worst Boys team sports record in Georgia. She needs to take a lesson from Ted Turner. He would tell them "We can finish last without you"

Rumor has it they are in some hot water because they have not been paying in all unemployment funds. Apparently the high paid secretary has been having to meet with feds and state the new superintendent want.

what are the qualifications of the new assistant hs principal? I heard he was a PE teacher for 6 yrs. We had 3 high qualified teachers that would have been perfect for this position. Another good decision made my our superintendent and schoolboard members that do as she says.

You are to be commended for informing us of the culpability of they, as well as revealing that the secretary has been required to meet with feds and state the new superintendent want. Brilliant investigative reportage.

i would give her a C-. I don't think she is that experienced.
I would like to have seen a headline in the paper..."...superintenden t forgoes raise this year.."
How much does she make anyway?

and they say they have the student class size limit raised to 2 more students in each class...but they never say what number that maxes out to... hmmm.
