It is my understanding that we have close to 60 volunteer firemen in Towns County. I am curious to know what the other volunteers feel about their Assistant Fire Chief being involved in alcohol related incidents time and time again, some of which fall under the color of the Towns County Fire Department?

My second question would be, "what has been done to correct these obvious alcohol related incidents involving a command offical with the fire department?"

I surely hope everyone doesn't let this incident go unchallenged. Though I don't think there is anything wrong with drinking, there certainly is a time and place for these events. Responding to a small fire in the early am after being out drinking the night and driving a county vehicle on county time is is not right by policy (job description), ethics, or an example of proper leadership skills.

These continued actions by the Asst. Fire Chief must be dealth with severely. These embarrassing actions on his part must stop, as well as his protective cover, King Bill the Commissioner.

All the more reason to keep chipping away at the GOB gang. As long as we have a dictator king we will have issues like this. The shameful actions of a few embarrass the good people in this community. That our commissioner is so self centered that he would continually embarrass our community is sad. If he truly cared about our community he would open the lock he has on his office and involve more people (3 person commission). As it is he will always come under suspicion because there is no oversight of his actions. Unbelievably sad that he continues to ignore the wishes of the people.

What kind of "alcohol related incidents " are you talking about? Were there charges brought against him?

He's been on calls before intoxicated and has been asked to leave by other fire dept members. But then a certain couple cover up for him.

Here you are not exactly right. There is oversight. It is called the ballot box. The problem lies in that no one feels strong enough on the subject to put up the money and run against him. It would appear that it would be a shoe in

Commissioner Kendall; will you please fire this clown?? Give him his walking papers so he can go back to Gainesville.

By the way, HC has criminal history! You want to play Harold? You want to mess with other peoples lives. Maybe we need to play with yours. Keep it up and your HISTORY will become common knowledge. The Commissioner already knows what it is .....

Looks like somebody hit a nerve. I say let all the dirt out. Anybody providing booze to underage youngsters should be exposed. What's good for one side should apply to the other as well. If we have people in the FD or the TCSO doing what has been suggested - down with them all.

HC lives by the belief that a good defense is a good offense. The problem is, the only thing HC is good at is drinking and running his pie hole.

I think the nerve was hit with HC. I sure wouldn't believe much that he has to say.

Are you saying that the commissioner is aware of a county employee's criminal history and has given that employee a pass? How serious were the charges?

Did the commissioner hire or approve the hiring of this fellow?

I don't have first hand knowledge of that, but I'm sure someone out there knows.

And the Commissioner has the application if he didn't hire him. I have been told that the Commissioner certainly does know the past of Mr. Copeland. He has had several chances to terminate this man, but has given him a free pass every time. Apparently, he needs his vote.

There must be more to it than that. One vote isn't worth the trouble or the risk to that one's image. The story must go deeper than we realize.

I believe it does go deeper. There is only one explanation. HC is really the son of King Bill. They were seperated when HC was only 4 years old and now he has found his biological father. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. I watched something very similar on General Hospital once.

That and a family situation explains why Mr Kendall won't declare the county a drug free workplace.
Just like Obama and Ayers we need to know more about this relationship.
