I have a few thoughts on how to help our community but nothing I am firm on or completely happy with..

The fact remains that myself and my friends would like to do something to help in some way.

We have various skills and a will to apply them but we are seeking a venture that would make a difference.

Our top idea currently is to build a website that can be used for locals only to trade items and services or to seek donations or help for projects such as home or car repairs.

Still working on the details of avoiding abuse of the system ect..

We have already been involved in giving away free auto and computer repairs to the needy and elderly but more can be done...

Can you repair your own computer to preclude double periods and the rendering of "etc." as "ect.."?

What about a web site to offer local crafts? And to go with it, a place where local crafts can be displayed and where potential customers can go and watch the craftsperson make them or teach others how? Like an arts and crafts center!

There's one building in town that could handle it but it would take some sweat equity to make it a nice place to work and visit, and no one showed any interest before.

What an original idea. Wish I'd thought of that.

It's when labor to make the place more appealing is exchanged for rent. It also applies when a person fixes up their own property to make it worth more

If your name is Eller, I don't believe they'll want to hear from you about this or anything else

Hardly original. The Folk School attracts a lot of customers from their web site and to the campus, just for the juried crafts. It's a great way to shop for Christmas, birthdays, etc. and a nice experience to take some of their classes.

Do you actually believe that I would attempt to have anything to do with the public as Slowpok. It just might be a suprise to you as to who I really am. Slowpok is a personas created by me for the soul purpose of playing on the forums as is the use of the Eller name. Yeah, Dumbo, Slowpok remains an accurate version of your useless, stupid, illiterate, oozing, sliming persona. Have you settled on its gender?

If you people really wanted to do something to help Towns County, first you would get rid of the people in power that have kept growth out of the county for years. I am also speaking about the few that do not hold office but sit back and pull the strings. If you have been here for over 5 years you should know of whom I speak. Second the Lions Club needs to be sent packing as far as running the fair. At one time that was the biggest attraction in the state. Ther are old antiquated bumper stickers on some of the 70's and 80's autos. Then you need to get someone to run the music hall to actually make money. Then how about having a rec. dept for the kids and not for the adults to go meet and have thier flings.

Why is it everybody talks about the fair, the fair is a waste, a dump. Why do we even need the fair?
Everyone will still bitch and moan if it changes, because "its not like it used to be". Lets face it nobody here really wants change. This county will always be a vast wasteland, gets worse by the day. You can hear the "sucking" as you drive through town.
