Does anyone know anything about the accident on Hwy 76e and 17/75? Had traffic backed up for miles and the red car did not look very good, hopefully everyone is okay.

There was a young boy who just graduated this year pulled out in front of a big truck load with roof trusses. He was in bad shape from what I have heard. They had to stop traffic and life flight him out.

I too was stopped in traffic for an hour. I saw the life flight helicopter come in and land behind the trees. I had no idea who it was or how bad. It looked like there was a point of impact at 288 and then something else had been "washed off" the asphalt in between 288 and 75/76 intersection.
I am glad to know the boy's name. I will be praying hard for him and his family! And for the truckdriver who evidently didn't have a choice....

Yeah He was a really sweet boy. I heard from one of my friends that is close to Matt's family that his legs are broke and they had to stabilize his neck so he truly cant move.I am praying for him 2.

Hi I was there when it happened and he pulled out in front of the 18 wheeler. It happened so fast. We rushed to the car and attempted to get him out but the car was too mangled. He was conscious and breathing and gave me his name and phone number to call. I am a nurse here on vacation so I stayed with him until help arrived. He didn,t know what had happened. I will pray for him. It was a horrific scene.

Bless you for being there for one of our kids. You will have special prayers from all the folks in Hiawassee. I'm sure it helped him to have your calming influence until help arrived.

I pray the truck driver will realize there was nothing he could do and will not blame himself.

Praise God! I have been praying for Matt and his family. I am sorry he had to go through this, but I am so relieved it isn't worse.

Matt is suppose to come home sometime today! The Doctors couldn't believe he wasn't hurt any worse than he was. God was watching over him!

I have shot some video wile I was waiting. I have the Life Flight being loaded and taking off. Plus a small view of his car.
There were a LOT of people praying for him on the seen. Matthew Kerr, was chosen to stay here, his job is not even started good.
The Truck driver was in shock and I am sure he was thinking that the boy was dead. His prayer was answered this time, the way he wanted!
Thank GOD for answering these prayers.

I am Matthew's older sister Lori. Believe it or not....Matt came home from Greenville Memorial Hospital this evening. He is very badly bruised, lost his top two teeth, his chin and lips were cut very badly and he has had many stitches, he also has some small bones in his face that have been cracked but the doctors say that he will heal without surgery. Many other cuts that are in mutiple areas are just bandaged. He is taking a lot of pain medication right now, so if any of his friends call and his is completely goofy (well goofIER you know matt :)!) that is the reason. There have been so many prayers and calls of concern for Matt, and we are thankful for each and everyone of you out there. There are too many to even begin to name. Prayer chains were started immediately, and by our Lord's grace, Matt was spared. I don't know if alot of you know this....but Matt was called to preach a couple years ago.....he has not done a lot of it in a long while, but when he did he always had a powerful message given to him. I KNOW that the Lord intended for Matt to be here so that he can again give those messages, as well as share his kind heart and giving soul. I love my brother dearly....and have witnessed the numbers of others that do too....I can never say thank you enough......NEVER..... To Daniel Solie,(probably did not spell his last name right!) thank you for being my brother's best friend. I know that you are as close to him as I, if not closer. You are an angel! Thank you to all the officers, especially the one that called my husband right away when Matt gave our number!, to the EMS, to the flight crew, and all the witnesses/bystanders that helped. Without you all....well I don't even want to think about that! I love you all!

I'm very thankful Matt is going to be ok. I believe in prayer and I started praying the moment I heard about this.
