It appears like Clay County has a Sheriff who is doing more than talking about the drug problem in his County.
Maybe Chris is afraid to bust the dopers around here out of fear they will tell everyone about the good ol days when Chris was a rock Star.
Hey Chris they might give you a plaque if you bust some of the dopers around here.

I sure hope you are sitting on some kind of proof if you are going to throw around accusations like that.

Sheriff Clinton has put himself on the line to take a stand for the citizens of Towns County. You can all expect attacks like this on his personal character to be stepped up on this forum and other public venues .

Any accusation against our duly elected Sheriff better be backed up with proof. Myself and several others intend to back him wholeheartedly as long as his current path continues .

This statement is not only slander on Sheriff Clinton, but our whole community .

Yeah, I miss them good old days, back when our Sheriff could be found any day of the week banging the waitress, on the salad bar, in the local Corner Cafe, or setting behind the wheel of another demolished patrol car, we taxpayers paid for, or changing the barel on the pistol after your Chiefs been out shooting up somebodys home, and both of them go to prison, Yeah bring them Good Olds Days back....

In reality the slander was committed by you. No matter how hard Chris tries to put the toothpaste back in the tube, it will not all go back in. Many of us remember Chris from his rock star days and his taste for, shall we say special herbs and powders. There are more than one picture and a very short but telling video of our sheriff playing at a local watering hole back in 2004 while under the influence of and using those special herbs and powders and washing it down with a pitcher.
He has cleaned up his act the past five years. That does not change the past. He is still a high school dropout, military dropout and former rock star wanta be with all the baggage that comes with that. Like all too many of the local "Reverends" around here, who are born again dopers, adulterer, thieves and alcoholics, I Respect their position but not them. The ones who stand before everyone and tell the truth about their past and ask for forgiveness and a chance to prove they have changed, I have hope. For the ones like Chris who act as if his past never took place and he is some type of savior of the people of Towns County, I just laugh and feel pity.
His family and handlers can come on here and threaten and deny all they want. It does not change a thing. I hope he has changed and will do a good job as Sheriff. But, all the smoke and mirrors in the world will not change what he was prior to being elected Sheriff of this corrupt little County. It has been said before and I will say it again. In a healthy community Chris would not get 10% of the vote. Bill would be in Jail, Barbara would be selling Avon, and most of the other elected officials would be working for minimum wage or drawing unemployment. Here they are your leaders. They will never be mine.

Well said 'TRUTH'. This town is and will never be anything. The minors have nothing to look forward to when they get out of school. The only employment comes from a family member dying. There is no culture, no education, no growth and most of all no justice. Towns county is a joke. We need real leaders, real education
and growth in our community if we are ever going to offer anything to our children, our future!

they go to court in 2 days not 2 years. if all the moonshine, weed an meth were removed from towns county there would be very few people left.
probably not enough to run the schools.

You people are disturbing. You seem to have no love or hope for anything. The past does not matter, and no one has seen any "video".

You do not have to live here,or post to these forums. Clearly either you have some kind of attachment to the place or you failed at some point also and can not locate where you would like to.

People he move here and bitch are even more disturbing. Some of us have generations of family from this area and going some place else is simply not an option. That is why the tourist / retirement business model has been so destructive to the region. Their is no true love for the place and those that it really is home to have been long forgotten.

If you relocated here in the last decade you may not be aware of the toll that was taken around here on job in the late 80's early to mid 90's.

A lot of very good people had their lives rearranged and jobs were shipped off and never replaced..The local governments attempted to secure their pockets through tourism and retirees, it left a huge divide in the community and a lot of young people pissed off and aimless.

Sure their is plenty of blame to go around to everyone for not fixing problems and such...Ultimately tho we just get stuck in this disgusting pit of grudges accusations and petty bickering..

Clearly Chris has decided to do better if in fact he ever did any of those things, I like to feel like I live in a world where it is possible to make a change if you want to.

"Locals" have only themselves to blame for the county imploding the way it is and has been for many years. The money "outsiders" bring in is welcome, but ideas, bold or otherwise, aren't and as long as a minority controls the government and "locals" willingly remain docile and blind as to what is happening, that's the way it's going to continue - until the bone is picked completely clean.

The toll taken in jobs here in the 80's should have been planed for. There were options at the time. It was happening throughout the South. No elected officials have planned for anything here. They practice reactionary management. That is from a lack of education and knowledge. This County deserves everything it gets. They elected the idiots and keep repeating the mistake. Inbred ignorant fools.

How do you plan for an economic disaster brought on by national leaders with grandiose world domination plans and no money to pay for them? Leaders who wanted growth at any cost, who encouraged and allowed lenders to run amuck to make it happen. NOBODY saw the end coming so fast, we should have but didn't. The bankers cheated and covered their tracks so they could continue to screw the public. Even now the bankers on Wall Street are back at work screwing the middleclass.
How in hell is that the fault of LOCAL leaders elected by inbred ignorant fools in the South? Tell me genius so all us fools can understand your wise words.
