it just takes me a couple of hours to fall asleep at night so well i am laying in bed sometimes i have to go to the bathroom so i have to take my diaper off and go to the bathroom and then put my diaper back on again because i just can't bring myself to go to the bathroom in my diaper on purpose while i am awake and i know that is what diapers are for but it just would be really hard to go to the bathroom in my diaper when i am not asleep.

Once my nappy is on it stays on so if I have to pee while I'm still awake then so be it. I can understand you not wanting to wet your nappy while awake but it doesn't bother me. After a lifetime of wetting the bed being wet just isn't a problem.

yeah i guess wetting my diaper while i am awake would not be that bad but i think it would be pretty nasty to poop in your diaper while your awake and then sleep in it.

I have worn a nappy/pad and rubber/plastic pants since birth and I am now 67 years old,the first time I knew that I had a problem was when I was six years old, and my mother marched me into the doctors surgery, and demanded that, he tell her why I wet the bed every night without a break, she said that I have ruined my mattress and soiled my pyjamas so much she had to burn them because of the smell, he said we will send him into hospital where they will do tests on him, after several very painful tests, they discovered that I suffered from Nocturnal Enuresis, and they gave my mother two packs of terry nappies and several packets of rubber pants for me to wear, later that day a district nurse arrived, and gave my mother a large red rubber bed sheet, to protect the bed, she then took a nappy from its packet and said this is how you put them on him, she wipped my trousers and underpants down, and put rthe nappy between my legs, she then pinned the sides up, and then rolled a pair of white rubber pants over them, she said this is how you must do it every night, when I was ten years old I was again taken to a local childrens clinic NHS, and they asked my mother lots of questions whilst I just sat there, when we left the nurse gave my mother several packets of nappy pads and twelve pairs of junior sandra pvc pants, she said they would send the bed protector round to our house, no more rubbers or nappies, my mother put the sky blue pvc mattress cover on the mattress and said, that should stop the mattress getting wet, that night I washed and waited for my mother to put my pad and pants on me, she came into my bedroom and said, you are old enough now to do it yourself, and watched me put them on, that night I wet the pad and the urine soaked the pad and leaked out onto my pyjamas and bedding, in the morning she went mad, and took me back to the clinic, they said that the pads have to be got used to, and did I put it on properly, so they pulled a large three piece blind around this table, and started to put a pad and pants onto me in the middle of the clinic, everybody was watching me, the doctor said that they didnt fit me properly and the pants were to big for me, so they changed the pad it fitted a lot better and changed the pants which were smaller, I went to take the off, but the nurse said keep them on, it will save you changing later, so I went home with my pad and pants on under my trousers.
I have been married now for over 46 years and my wife knew about my problem before we married, upto last year I still wore a nappy pad and pvc pants every night, but a nurse damaged the neck of my bladder whilst taking a catheter out, so I wear a pad and pants 24/7 now, my wife puts my pants out on the washing line, and most of the neighbours no that one of us wears them, I also get a free supply of nappy pads every twelve weeks from the NHS, all you have to do is ask your GP, to see the continence nurse and do some simple pain free tests and you will, get a free supply of pads, I buy my own pants and bed pads and mattress covers.
The problem is all in your mind, dont worry about other people and what they think, life is to short, I think its only a problem if you make it one, if you want to talk to me, thats no problem

This is a load of rubbish. All that Nocturnal Enuresis means is that you wet at night. It's not the cause of you wetting, and you already knew that you wet without any tests. Proper hospital tests find out why you wet. Anyway, lots of kids wet at night when they're 6 and most grow out of it. This looks like pure fantasy.

And some just don't. I still wet the bed most nights at 50. My medical notes state I am enuretic and no one has ever got to the bottom of exactly why I wet the bed. Some of us just do and that is all there is to it. My Doctor knows I still wet the bed and I see the continence nurse now and then.

Hi Steve, a diagnosis of Nocturnal Enuresis is meaningless, cause it just tells him that he wets the bed and he knew that already. Also the age of 6 for such a silly 'diagnosis' looks suspicious, cause lots of kids still wet at night when they're 6.

I sleep better when in an adult nappy,if I'm alone I'll stay in it as long as possible in the morning & maybe wet it again,I find it hard to take off sometimes.

Probably true, it's an embarrassing thing to admit so I bet there are alot who keep it secret.

When I strated bedwetting, I was put back in nappies by my mum and hated it. I felt so embarassed I would try to hide the fact I was wearing a nappy even though my parents know. But now I just get on with it, I even find my self sitting in a wet nappy and eating my breakfast. What ever next :-)
I soon got used to my nappies when I started wearing them at night a few years back when my bedwetting became a nightly thing again. I often don't change till after breakfast and sometimes mid morning or even longer if I am staying at home.

I used to be very embarrased about my bedwetting but don't really care any more. I think that just comes with age. I had to take a sample in to the nurses recptionist the other day. She asked what it was for and without really thinking about it I just told her I had seen the Doctor earlier in the day about my increasing daytime incontinence and I think she was more embarrassed than me.

When I wake up I wait till my mom makes me change. Wet doesn't bother me. The toddlers mom babysits don't mind wet either but some of the girls hate being messy. Thy come and tell mom when they're soiled. They don't say anything when they're wet though.
