It seems like the yellow caution lights are timed shorter , like 2 seconds. This means you have to jam on your brakes and will cause more rear end collisions. If the yellow lights had the same timing as non camera intersections, would be safer.
Maybe, it's about tricking drivers to raise traffic income, and paying for the cameras.I'm sure that an aggresive attorney will persue this , unethical practice.

The messed up thing is its a private company that owns the cameras,
The company wanted to put more at the intersection of ridge an 19 but they couldent put them on public property.
I'v seen on numberus occasions pasco county sheriff, state and city cops and pcpt all get the red light camera,do they get a ticket in the mail?
The truth is that the cops take everything personaly.. That means if they see someone speeding, running a red, speeding etc.
They can do something about it or let it slide.
I see people doing the stupidist stuff in front of cops, and get away with it wether it be u turns on red, people driving off the road, near collisions.
They let people get away with stuff that can get people killed,But if your doing 5mph over the speed limit your getting nailed.
I dont blame them, its easy money,
And they barely have to work.
I have an idea, how about speed cams?
Then we might be able to loose some un-needed cops.

Much of Miami-dade police seem to have no concept of what reckless driving is and God forbid they ever enforce turn signal laws however credit to them they drive well but REFUSE to enforce reckless driving laws and seem to think speeding is only law that needs to be enforced.
Many do not even enforce that .

I was for the cameras when they first came out but later decided unethical because EVERY other damn light in this ill run banana republic has different times.
Some go from yellow to red in 2 seconds which will catch any law abiding driver.
I was not aware of that till a friend pointed it out to me and now realize some of these lights are indeed a scam.
To bad the banana republic Mayors do not fix these lights.
Doral my area is full of these 2 second yellow lights.
I subscribe to cameras but only if done correctly not this Miami-dade scam.

"and paying for the cameras"
The cameras are free the deal which was agreed upon is the camera company gets a percentage of the ticket/fine money and city gets the rest .
