Bruce's family will be fine. His wife is a petite, very pretty woman who deserved better than him. Now she can move on with her life and maybe find someone who will treat her great. The boy never really got along with his dad (I know this does not mean he didn't love him, but I think he didn't like what his dad was growing in the basement and the way he treated other people). And the girl has a fiance to help her get through this. Most of the people who are saying Bruce was a nice guy haven't even seen him since grade school, because the people who live in Hesperia know the truth. I pray for the girls family.

I also checked out the craiglist posting and I also think it is interesting how someone posted something on July 2 about his drunk driving.

all of your judgements are very sad. Do you not have a life! The man is dead and may have had some problems. But don't we all. It should be real interesting what people write about all of you when you die. You should hope it is something with a little class, unlike the posting that many of you have made. I feel sorry for you people. But I'll make sure that I write many nice things about you when you are gone and not able to defend yourself!

I find it odd that noone mentions the family he hit. What about the girl? You guys want to argue about him. He is not worth it. Luckily he didn't kill anyone else.

Don't give me the throw rocks at glass house crap. We are all adults and we are responsible for our own actions. And we all have to answer for our own choices. I do not drink and drive. And alot of people knew it would only be a matter of time before this happened. I laugh when people say he was the best person. I am sorry but their standards must not be that high. Who says a person who drinks and drives all the time, and has put numerous people in the hospital because of this the best person they know. I would hate to meet the worst person they know.

I don't even know why I read this stuff, but after reading some of the most hateful and judgemental remarks I have ever read I am going to set the record straight. Yes he was in an accident with the lady that had suffered the broken legs, but what many of you don't know is that that evening the road was extremely iced over and the road conditions were the reason for the accident. Bruce stayed with the injured women and was helping keep her safe before the 1st responders arrived. There were other cars that were sliding off the road in which they were almost hit by another vehicle going off the car. He would have stayed her and did everything he could to help. He stopped drinking over 3 years ago and never went to Angelos as some of you have been quick to judge.

Yes he crossed the center line in the recent fatal accident, but what I can tell you is that he wasn't drunk. He had significant health issues and was giving everything he had to cope with all the pain he was in, as well as continuing to run the family business in order to provide for his wife and family. We are deeply sorry for what happened and pray that the child is blessed with a speedy and full recovery. He will be greatly missed by our family and the people that knew him best.

To all of you that go on these sites to simply speak on things you have no actual facts about remember that what goes around comes around and I know you would be writing something else if it were someone in your family. This was an awful tragedy that know one wants to ever see happen. With that being said I find it disturbing how awful people can be and I can say that many of the posts on this have disturbed me greatly. Instead of having respect for both the families that were involved you simply pass judgement. Bruce would have done anything to help anyone, but you people will never know that because you truly never knew him.

You no nothing about the relationship between Bruce and his family, and the comments you have posted are the furtherest thing from the truth. Perhaps you should have the backbone to leave you name and phone number with your comments, because I would like to see someone as insignificant as you back it up. I would be happy to let Bruce's son know who you are and you can have a conversation with him.

Hello - I would just like to say that I'm very close to the lady who was injured in February of 2008 and to this day - there are still issues/problems that she is facing because someone could not stay on their own side of the road. 2 Broken Femurs, Left Tibia Broken, Right ankle - 2 plates and 14 screws, 2 screws in the left hip, right humerous broken, 2 plates, 11 screws in the right hand, Radial nerve severed. right leg 2 inches shorter than left, and I'm sure there will be arthritis down the road nad other problems that haven't came to the forefront yet - all because someone can't stay on their own side of the road. From what I've heard is that these 2 accidents are not the only ones that Mr. Hallowell was involved in. Mr. Hallowell was issued 2 tickets in the previous accident for crossing the center line and for driving too fast for road conditions. Mr. Hallowell may not have had alcohol in his system during the Feb 2008 accident, but it will never be known because he was never tested for drugs or alcohol (even though in the state of michigan it's supposed to happen with any accident of this nature). Hmmmm...let's call Don Myers (sherriff) and leave the scene somehow without ever being tested. SHAME ON HIM! for allowing this to happen, or maybe Mr. Hallowell would have gotten help for his addiction to pain medicine and would still be here for his family. It's very sad that the Hallowell family had to lose someone that I'm sure they loved - but could it have been prevented. I've heard of another fender bender just a few weeks before this accident, and him calling customers late at nite slurring and asking if they are going to get their vehicle fixed. Does that sound like the way a normal business runs? Anyways - my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery for the Sied family as well as I understand Elizabeth is now home from the hospital, but will have to have therapy to have a normal life again. I totally understand why the Hallowell family and close friends are defending Bruce, he was their everything. But, unfortunately the truth is coming out. On July 2, someone wrote about his not being able to stay on his side of the road. I know for a fact in the last month he has wrecked two customers cars. I absolutely know for a fact he did not quit drinking. Although, his swerving could have also been from drugs. He did ALOT of swerving and obviously had a hard time driving all together. I am glad the family thinks he would have done anything for anybody, although this is totally untrue. Just ask the residents of Hesperia. This is a severe tragedy and I truly feel for the Hallowell family and the Sied family. Bruce is gone now and he cannot be a threat to anyone else, unfortunately there have been 2 girls forever affected by his bad choices.

I knew Bruce and he was a good guy. Dont judge, how many of you really know the facts or think you know. And if he was drinking maybe the people who posted the negative comments should thank god for all the times they drove home drunk and didnt get into an accident.

I will have you all know there is not one of you that can fully understand the depth and magnitude this accident caused the victim and her family.
I have read the toxicology report and your all wrong!!!!!
Shame on every cop in Hesperia and the surrounding areas, each and every one of them turned there head, "Oh that's just Bruce".
To this day the victims still suffer!!!!! They only live 4 miles from town!!! Very few attempted to search this family to see if they needed anything!!!!
As for Bruce's family my condolences went out, wedding still went on, what about the future of the girl, my best friends daughter. The nightmares her mother has, the physical pain her mother and step-dad face every day. This family will never for get the day Bruce almost killed there family!!!! All because someone would not take his keys!!!!!
