Doggonit, WOOD! The search has ended. That's ALL there is? Is the suspect alive? Taken without incident? What? What?

Hes dead from a self inflicted gunshot! For a man that was so bold as to kidnap his wife from her parents home he took the cowards way out. May he rot in he11.

This is a good example why this women and/or her parents should have had a gun in the house. If there was a restraining order against this guy or even if there was not and he tried to break in, they could have shot and killed him. Instead, the women is dead and I'm guessing this guy either shot himself or is in custody. Hopefully he shot himself to save us the court costs and the kids from having to deal with him alive.
Thank God for GW Bush's Supreme Court Appointments. If we had Al Gore or Kerry appoint these Justices, the 2nd Ammendment would be ripped out of the constitution by now.

I was just wondering they say the suspect is no longer a threat. So what I am trying to get at is do they have him in custody or is he now dead too?

Could we JUST FOR ONCE keep politics out of this! Bush, Kerry, Gore, None of them had anything to do with this so PLEASE keep your political rants to yourself when we are not even dealing with that here!

I was wondering to if he was dead, alive, what. If he killed himself then why didn't he just do that in the first place instead of killing his wife. What a worthless piece of s h i t! If he's not dead they should let this womens dad go shoot him!

Homicide in Oceana - UPDATE
Hostage situation turns murder-suicide
Two people are dead following an abduction Thursday evening in eastern Ferry Township that ended in a murder-suicide.
The Oceana County Sheriff’s Department has yet to release the names for the individuals, pending family notification.
The incident began at approximately 8:10 p.m. near 160th Avenue and Buchanan Road when police were dispatched to a kidnapping at gun point.
According to the sheriff’s department, a 41-year-old man came out of the woods where he had been lying in wait, dressed in camouflage and pointed a shot gun at a female individual and ordered his 28-year-old estranged wife to come with him. The sheriff’s department press release says the man then took his estranged wife by the arm, and with force took her west from the residence into the woods at gun point.
Police set up a perimeter around the area and the Oceana/Mason County Emergency Response Team was called along with a police K-9 unit from the Mason County Sheriff’s office. The K-9 unit tracked the suspect to the west of the residence.
The woman was found dead from gunshot wounds at approximately 11:15 p.m. Thursday. A manhunt continued through the night and the man was found dead at 7:27 a.m. Friday with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was discovered approximately one half mile west of where the woman was found.

The issue is being able to protect your self and family. This can not be done if our 2nd amendment is taken away from us. It is all about politics get your head out of the sand. You cant protect your self if you have nothing to protect your self with!!

This is tragic to happen in our town.

I feel for the family members and the boys who now have to grow up without a mother or father.

The courts should've done more to protect this family from the obviously horrible man.

She was 28, He was 41...the odds of a relationship with that kind of age difference are slim to none

How could the Courts have done more in this situation?

We don't even know all of the details here; was this the 1st time this guy acted like a nut? the second? the 50th?

The only thing I can see that would have made a difference here, would be if her parents had been carrying, they could have shot the s.o.b. in the back, multiple times, at minimum, as he led their daughter away
