why is it known as dead mans lake, my grandpa said a indian drowned, Thought he just said that to keep us away from the lake. Hear other stories, any truth to it,I live her now, like to pass on the truth, not the myth.

I heard that a guy with a team of horses pulling a load of logs. Desided to take short cut across the lake instead going around it. And went trough.Thats what my gampa told me and he wasn't much for telling wild storys.And heard the same from other old timers in the area.
