This is a very sad and tragic incident. Firstly, our deepest condolences to Jonathan’s family and close friends. In addition, our prayers go out to the Raychel’s family & friends. We pray that she pulls through. I understand this is still under investigation. It is difficult to determine all the circumstances of what exactly transcribed that led to this unfortunate accident. However, there are many times that cars just zoom through this dangerous curve off of “E” avenue with disregard for their safety and/or others… I should know; I live right in front of where this accident took place. I arrived home around 3:15pm yesterday as I was running few minutes behind schedule. Once I got past the roadblock, as I had to get permission to get home, I saw the vehicles in bad shape and prayed that everyone was okay. As I walked down the driveway, I looked over to the right and noticed fire & rescue moving what appeared to be a young man wearing blue shorts and white tennis shoes onto a stretcher and onto the ambulance. At first I thought that the gentleman they were loading may have suffered some minor bumps and bruises as they were there for a few minutes then a few minutes later, the ambulance slowly backed up and drove off. It was not till later that night that I read about the accident and to my shock and surprise that someone had lost their life on scene.
As I stated earlier, circumstances are under investigation and may never be fully known or understood in this particular case.
