The SBCO employees union has a very bad reputation of backing crooked politicians and not representing its employees. Anybody wish to comment?

I worked in that department for 6 months then left for a promotion. There were several occasions where De Ana Thompson had pointed fingers in our faces yelling at us in front of the public that were waiting for help with documents. I witnessd her telling one long time employee that they can take it outside if she has a problem. I had been outside of her office filing and saw Patrice Tucker go into her office and one other emplyee and shut the door. I heard her slam her fist against the desk and scream. It was later confirmed by Patrice. An employee asked me what I thought about her going to the Recorders and I said steer clear but she would have to decide. She went over there and has regreted it ever since. Please do something about her!

Wow. From the top down San Bernardino County is a mess. The County's HR is controlled by the CAO's office. They wont discipline Mark Uffer's hand picked cronies that are in charge of the County's Departments but they will fired and intimidate the line staff. Time to gut the County's leadership and start fresh. So will the County's Sups take the fall for the CAO?

De Ana Thompson is well known for her arrogant and mean spirited (evil) way of treating others. She plays that phony card of how she is just tough because she expects much of others; her boss is not a man of action and will not call it to her attention and she knows it, which is why she goes nuts with her power of belittling others. NO ONE IS IRREPLACEABLE- Thompson is a bottom of the barrel human being and those who ignore her evil behavior towards hard working decent human beings are just as evil as her.

That's the way the County's works, they like to cover up for their "best" employee...no matter how many complaints are rendered. Why not look at the turnover rate there. Maybe it's time for Deanna to move to another office. If there's been numerous complaints let's look at the common denominator.

True, that's why they are not called a "Union" but rather an Association. Any complaints going into that office are referred to the Dept. Human Resourse Officer which tends to be friends with the upper management (the problem people) so the complaint stops there. And SBPEA states they need to raise the dues because they've done so much for "us"...hmm name one thing.

It's been over three years since I left the Recorder's office and the memories of stress and torment are like they just happened yesterday, when I left I told myself that I would never work in an environment when I was so miserable... Thank the lord I have kept to my work, fellow SB County employees you have any opportunity to shed light on the circumstances and situation at ACR lot of you have left we need to support these County employees that are still there, I still have friends working for ACR and nothing has changed don't be afraid, reveal your names because at one time we felt like we were by ourselves and out numbered by management the fact of the matter is that were the majority not the minority. We can finally make a difference if we stick together your thoughts, feelings, options matter these things happened not only to me but you too, let's support these employee's. Remember when you were there the fear and intimidation and low morale we can put a stop to this…..Something to think about!!!!!

I also worked there and left approximately 4 years ago. I liked my job but like Patrice I couldn't continue to work in such a bad environment. We took our complaints to Mr. Hatfield, our union representative and he politely informed us that it was our fault and we should look at ourselves for change. He also informed us that he had worked with Betsy Starbuck the assistant Auditor Controller/Recorder and she was a very reasonable person. How reasonable is she allowing this to continue on for how many more years? I left a job and co-workers that I liked because of the stress and bullying that I received in this office.

Yet again a stellar example of the Sun reporting the "facts"or the facts they feel worth reporting.
Wendy Everett was a horrible boss, the department was excited when she left! She made her employees and customers cry because of her belittling and horrible nature. As for John Pinckney he decided it was more important to stand behind people making sure the time on their computers matched his watch. Sean Crees was always on his phone texting and Dennis Tormey was never on time any day. The department is better off without them!

"But Everett, 34, of Highland, says Thompson leads by fear and intimidation, and subjects her subordinates to unnecessary ridicule."
Wow amazing coming from Everett, the woman is a witch! She ruled by fear and intimidation. What would you call a person who tells a person with terminal cancer that she is a faker? Yep that is the sort of person Everett is.

This story doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Why is it that this paper continues to make the public aware that Bill Postmus put people with no education into high paying managent positions yet doesn't mention at all that the exact same situation has taken place here? How does a mild mannered secretary jump to running the entire Recorder's Division in less than 2 years?
Beyond that, I find it amazing that Human Resources says that there isn't enough evidence to prove that a hostile work environment exists here. Talk to ANYONE that's ever worked in that pit and you'll find out just how hostile it was and sounds like still is.
It's is disgustingly obvious to anyone that has ever worked at the Recorder's Office that Service First rules only apply to front line staff and upper management can do whatever the hell they want. What ever happened to 'I'm going to JACK YOU UP'?? Sound familiar anyone??

Can't make all the people happy all the time! Wendy you are a wonderful person who clearly went through a hard time. It's too bad as "Tip" says above - Service First never applied to upper management! There are a lot of people out here who are praying for and cheering you on...behind the scenes out of fear.

This is the tip of the iceberg alright, and with Postmus and other top County officials being in the mess they are in, why isn't The Chicken Bob Bough and his apparent herd of other farm animals on SBPEA staff making a REASONABLE ATTEMPT TO REPRESENT? There is no real question as to why SBPEA makes issues about these types of administrative and managerial abuses, THEY ARE ENVOLVED IN THE CORRUPTION, just as deeply. Just because the law allows PAC's to give $100K political donations, DOESN'T MEAN THEY SHOULD BE THE MIDDLEMAN TO CORRUPTION. Shame on The Chicken and the other beasts at SBPEA, the membership better have a vote of no confidence against the SBPEA GM Bob Bough presented to the SBCo. BOS ASAP! Only the membership can save their own hides from being sold out by the employee association TO THE POLITICAL MACHINE OF CORRUPTION THAT IS SBCo. GOVERNMENT

How long will it take County employees to get some backbone and stand up for themselves? Yeah, there is some risk, but there is a long-term gain for those 25% of county employees that are great workers, some gain for those 25% that could be good or great workers, and even some gain for those 25% that are marginal employees that with some effort might rise to minimal keepers. And yes, the math is correct, that adds up to just 75%, meaning the remaining 25% of county employees must go!

The great, average, and marginal county employees must rise up and get rid of those lousy 25%- heck, even the union won't fight that battle, so it leaves it up to the remaining workers.

Yeah we pray she becomes a human being who understands what compassion means, she needs the service first training.

So how many employees were threatened to write good comments about their current boss Ms. De Ana? Those 2 comments about Wendy are untrue, you shouldn't feel obligated to hurt someone elses image to satisfy your boss, she can't fire you member you have the "union" to protect you!

I'd be curious to know if these 2 from Ontario ever went to Mrs. Thompson or higher to compain about the actions of Everett, Pinckney, Tormey and Crees? If so, what was the reponse to your complaints? Were they reprimanded or at the very least counceled for their evil and awful actions? If you didn't go and complain, why not? Or, could it be that you knew if you complained, it would get you no where?
