Energy, IL Officer Forced to Resign

Energy, Illinois Police Officer, Kyle Murray, accused of beating a man and bashing his car, will be forced to resign by October 26th, 2007. via WPSD-TV Paducah

Sounds as if some of the area officers are out of control! The only bright side to this whole thing is that there has been no loss of life yet, hopefully the few bad seeds can be weeded out before someone dies. Apparently Mr, Murray has a anger management problem, carrying a gun and a badge is definately not in the best interest of the public.

Yup, would have every light on the car flashing and have the spot on too. Hobble up to you on his one and a half feet and slap a big ole ticket on ya. My mom and dad would drive 5 under the limit just to avoid him.:) Aaaahh memories..

I actually went to school in WF but had lots of friends in Herrin and hung out there quite a bit...lived in Herrin for a couple of years after I got out of HS and worked at Norge.
Can you still swim out at the Energy strip pits? I lost a bunch of brain cells out there in the 70's.

Norge aka Whirlpool aka Maytag is no longer there, not much of anything as far as jobs.. drugs they got, jobs they don't!!

I think all the strips have been "re-claimed".. my mom use to send me with my sister when I was a kid.. we wound up at Crenshaw Crossing in one of those pits... of course I told :) Boy did my sister ever get it!!

As of today Sept 2009, I don't know why the tax paying residents in Energy even need a so called police department. there are no fed or county housing to creat problems, no business, no taverns, and Herrin PD could be contracted to take care of Energy. All that Energy group does is get a bunch of illiterate part timers to harass every car driver that comes thru town on the 148 and out east at the nursing home and out west at the stop sign by the sewer plant. a complete waste of tax payers money counting the salaries the car expense and the retirement and benefits just to have a bunch of ticket writeres, and talk about Shine, he couldn't compare with what they have today,and the entire group ought to be done away with.

Amen, to that! Southern Illinois is full of cops who have anger control issues. And, yes Herrin, Energy, Johnston City and West City, I believe are the worst. However, I'm also finding that Franklin County aren't so honorable either.

yes shannon is still there , he is a good guy, what they need to do is check these people out on the merit boards that say these people are able to be police officers, you checks on these people on the merit boards ,whos to say they know what they are doing.
