Guns In Va. Restaurant Draw Stares, Little Outcry - News Story ...

The Virginia Citizens Defense League said it hopes a recent trip to a northern Virginia restaurant was able to prove a point -- the presence of armed customers would elicit little more than shrugs.

Reminds me of the time look ago when the Vienna, Virginia police arrested a fellow for carrying a pistol. The next day they found out there was no law against carring the gun openly. Yeah, ain't nothing changed except that drugs, gangs, and robberies were almost unheard of forty years ago. The small amount of crime usually occurred in black sections of then nonopen housing Virginia. This is just fact not racism. One popular store open from seven in the morning till eleven at night had one robbery in six months and that was a huge topic of conversation. Now we are openly displaying guns to deter crime the same as some store owners and employees in DC and PG county. One store in Seat Pleasant used to have three armed employees at three counters in the store. They always made sure their guns were sticking out of their pockets and each day they displayed the butt of a different gun. Far as I know, the place was never robbed. Now we are talkling about allowing armed students on campus. One wonders what is happening to our country and it just is not black people heavily involved in crime or illegals. It seems violence really is "American as apple pie" as our friend Stokley Carmichel pointed out. Nee Stokley as I don't have his Islamic name handy or I would spell it out. Guns, guns, used to be a way of life and people knew how to use them without shooting the neighbor. A gun used to be a fashion statement in parts of the south and west. Yet men in fights always took off their guns and then started punching and did not worry about a second round if they lost. Today punk kids with no brains, it seems, just start spraying lead. If they could only think about how stupid they really are perhaps they would slow down.

Good for them, as a law abiding and concealed gun carrying citizen, I think citizens should be able to protect themselves from the harsh dangers that people face today. I believe that I should be able to protect my life and the life of my family, if confronted by a violent criminal because police officers can't be everywhere, and if the thugs knew they were about to assault a person that could have a gun they probably wouldn't commit the crime, now would they?

In fact, carrying a gun could get you shot. I remember the case of a store on Alabama Ave. DC where the receiver checked in goods on the sidewalk and he always carried a gun for protection there and inside the supermarket. A robber just walked up and shot him dead because the robber knew the man was armed. Sick stuff but it did happen back in 1975.

I have no problem with this, as long as it remains the way it does. Most folks don't even want the attention drawn to them from carrying an open sidearm, so it will most likely remain a minority. That minority however, so far, knows they have a point to prove, and will thus keep themselves in check to stay a positive example.

As for Campus carry, I happen to believe the College age group overall is one of the least responsible ever, of any generation so far. The last thing we need is a group of drunken idiots packing heat, in a crowded party environment.

I do believe that some colleges, especially ones in more rural settings, should allow for students to keep hunting rifles, or outdoor guns, if they so wish, in a gun-locker available for outings. Also, if someone owns a private residence, even if it happens to be on campus property, they must be allowed to own a sidearm or long-gun for home-defense if they so desire.

I am for legal carry 100%, and truly believe it to be our Constitutional Right, created by the Founding Fathers of this Free Nation.

The factor of Violence is not about laws, weapons, or environment, it is about Morals. How folks are raised is what develops the difference between someone who respects human life, and someone who does not. That is what we must target, and do so aggressively.

As most of these alarmist haven't a clue what it takes to get a Concealed Weapons Permint,(in Florida any weapon can be carried concealed, Firearm, knife, etc.) nor are cognizant or care to be before running off with their fat-assed Rosie/Brady like incognizant rehetoric to all that will listen.

We need to roll back most of these unconstitutional laws restricting our rights to protect ourselves, families and community. I dont need any "permit" other then the second ammendment to arm myself. I can read and interpet the simple statement with out some comunist jew distorting it.
