Herndon released information on Tuesday concerning the town's agreement with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

They need to check the apartments on Elden St. and the local cops need to give tickets to those jaywalkers. They just cross the street right in front of your car while your going 35 mph or 45 mph. They don't care if you have right of way.

wow what low numbers for 3 months! Walking up and down Elden St. alone you could easily get 10-30 people a day. What a crock....its OUR tax money and the government dont mind spending it on themselves so why use it to clean up our neighborhoods of illegal non tax paying social services draining leeches?

When my American born (6 generations of american) a**(and fairfax county resident ALL of my 30+ years) was homeless but paying taxes the county they told me to bad, so sad but keep working! Why to support others who dont and should not even be here?

I truly expected the numbers to be much higher. Remember folks they are 'criminal aliens". They have committed a crime against town or state law. Illegals just being present in the country are not criminal aliens as defined by ICE. That's why only criminal aliens are being removed.

Even with the 287g training, the Herndon police can't just go to the houses on Alabama or the apartments on Elden or start rounding them up from the streets. They are only authorized to process illegals who have committed a crime.

Yes Jodi you are so correct. There are so many people that have the idea that 287-g gives us the power to walk up to people and just arrest them. That is not so. The police must come in contact with the individuals during normal duties. Only violent offenders are detained. If any of us approach day laborers and start asking for papers we will get sued for ethnic profiling. I know this makes some unhappy but we must play by the rules. Some got the idea that day labor sites would just go away and that illegals would be arrested in large numbers under the 287-g program. Not so. It's just not that easy. Many law enforcement agencies that participate in the program are arresting the same illegal aliens that ICE deported. We must fix the border first. Personally, 287-g is more than what it is made up to be. It's the feds putting the burden on the local police to include the governments and taxpayers. Write your congress representatives and ask for answers and action. Ask them why have they left the American people high and dry.
