Depression is a very real illness. It's unfortunate that someone has to resort to this, especially where all can see. Some people no longer have any hope left no matter what their situation may be. I am a suicide survivor and I thank God that I was found in time. My heart aches everytime I hear of a suicide. The guy in PV probably felt the same way. A feeling I know all too well. It's horrifying. Due to excellent nurses and docs, I am doing well. God bless the family of both men. Don't ever be fearful of getting help. I did and I am here to tell my story. GOD BLESS ALL!!!!!!

I've been through it all... Breakups, health worries, finacial disaster, and general anger towards life. I've never felt any urge to hurt myself and never thought of taking my life to deal with it. Weak people need to eventually disappear, if you want to do it yourself, have fun.
You obviously don't suffer from depression, although you do suffer from being a complete a-hole......good luck with that!

Life is not problem free for anybody really, we all have our problems. Some deal with there problems better than others. Obviously, this poor guy could not cope with what was troubling him. It is a tragedy he decided to end it all.

Unreal. I run the sand almost every morning from 33rd to Hermosa Pier and back and saw the commotion close up yesterday morning at about 730am. I thought he was a drowning victim because he looked wet. Now to find out he hung himself at the lifeguard stand? Creepy. Glad I wasn't the first one to chance upon that scene and have to report it...

Alright by definition I don't believe there are any suicide survivors though. I think what you are saying is that you are a suicide failure anyway.
Sorry Fred, you're the failure.

You seem to have a lot of "self induced" failure in your life. I think that you are "the master of your own disaster". Loooooooser!!!!

I am glad you are doing better. And everything has worked out for you. My brother committed suicide last year, he went to the cliffs by marineland in RPV and hung himself. He went missing for 3 weeks before we found out, he had no ID with him. Was in the Morgue, he was found the next day by hikers. All of this brings back so many memories, but i pray for everyone who suffers from depression and feels that this is the only way out. There is help.

This man was loved by many and had many friends. This came as a complete shock. i will miss him dearly and have been in a state of shock/grief. I'm going to politely ask that people keep their rude comments to themselves. This is a tragedy. A very sad tragedy. I pray for him and his family and if prayer is an act you engage in I ask you say one for him as well, please.
