Architect overstated need and Henrix submitted that study to state. Then the Repugnant legislators had labella "convince" the state that his figures were overstated. The state has admitted on several occasions they do not have any figures other than those provided by labella. So yea they will build the 150 capacity..let's not forget about double celling and will go over budget and probably at the P&C and it will have large offices and all kinds of space to make farber feel like a big shot. It won't make him a better sheriff although god knows we need a more qualified one. There are investigations going on about some of things going on in there.Wait until that all comes out..let's see who runs scared then.

The Labella report is not the only report or Archetict to review the project and submit professional recommendations and data.
http://herkimercounty.org/content/PublicSafet...
This report was conducted in 2011 and included data and findings from the 2006 Labella report and an additional 5 years of analysis.
The recommendations and advisements of this report are largely in contradiction of the analysis of Labella and have been ignored by the Legislature. Why?
It is clear with the existance of these two reports that the Legislature instead of being unbiased and open minded have a predetermined policy.
Instead of being lead by the facts and data, they spin, manipulate, and pick and choose information that neatly fits or supports their preconcieved agenda.
Not good for the best interest of the taxpayers and county residents.

SCOC tells the county what the minimum number of beds is going to be.
The number of beds the county must build
is based on SCOCís prediction of future inmate
population.

If our county is planning for larger facilities to generate revenue by boarding in inmates from other jurisdictions, that's their call.

The fact you don't like it...is duly noted ;-). Oh and ignored.

You are wrong and and no matter how many time you say it,you don't become right..yawn! The one thing you are right about, is they will build it too big and TRY to bring in inmates from other places to make money. Idiot choice by idiots for so many reasons. It's also amazing that they just won't publicly admit that bording in is their real reason for building too big. Bono booboo!

Doesn't work that way. Can't prove a negative. If that verbage is correct then it needs to be proven, say with a link to factual data, not just some nitwit hiding behind an out of state IP location spewing their own personal agenda here.

Fact is, the loser posting with the "Lenox, MA" IP is using a masking program to conceal their real location. Gotta wonder why a coward would hide like that... Sounds like one of our wuss legislators pushing an agenda.

Neither link the Mass guy has are NYS DOC links. Neither link states that the SCoC determines the minimum bed size. Not to mention the information contained in both links are nearly a decade old, outdated.

What the Mass poster, probably you in disguise, has is bullshit.

Yes both links state that the SCoC determines the minimum bed size.

document is over 5 years old. Outdated and not updated.

Your other link was not a NYS link, it was from a source not associated with NYS government claiming to do a study about the prison system.

No idea who Carl is.

Link was already provided about with NYS regulations. Can't you read? They are current and directly linked from the NYS CoC website.

again, not a NYS goverment website. The .org should be obvious to you. There have been no revisions to your document, therefore there is no link to provide, which reaffirms what I said, it is OUTDATED information.

No idea who Carl is but apparently it must be someone you're jealous of, otherwise why even throw a name out there?

SCoC does not determine minimum bed size. They can accept or reject the plans submitted by a County. The SCoC does not give a specific number of beds.

This is what is going to happen...

The jail will be built at the P&C site. The size is to be 132 beds at a cost of about 25 million.

The video dated April 30th is helpful... http://herkimercountyconcernedcitizens.com/ca ...

t

The fact that neighboring counties like Oneida continue to have empty cells as high as 20O and can not fill them with inmates from other counties should be "duly noted as well"; oh and is being ignored. And yes that's their call.
Current supply of empty cells in the area far outweighs demand, this is simple economic principle that I am sure the Legislature has not taken into account.
