We finally went to this restaurant last night. The ambience could be improved....spend 5k and get new lighting, rich paint, plants, and some wall decor. HOWEVER, the food is a major winner here. We love sushi and sashimi. And this was first rate - very fresh, flavorful, and professionally presented. The rolls are outstanding, as well. It was my birthday, and they gave me a green tea ice cream/vanilla ice cream sundae with a candle in it. Service was friendly and professional.
Prices were about 20% less than Sumo or Mitsuba. We will be back! Thank you!

The typical decor for a Japanese restaurant is simple and unadorned. Tokyo's decore is exactly like the multitude of sushi restaurants around the world. The lights are on a rheostat so ask them to turn up the lighting. I agree with your experience with the fantastic food!

It's past May and they are still open.

Remember if it smells like trout, keep it out.
If it smells like salmon, keep on rammin.

Yes, this place is still open. And it's absolutely great. The constant presentation of the food day and in and day out and the hospitality they offer is one of a kind. Not many places like that here in Herkimer.
I give it five stars.

It's not an elegant place to eat,but it's clean,
the service is great, the food is fresh, nicely
presented and it tastes good, and there's cer-
tainly enough to eat. I live thirty miles away,
so I haven't been there in a while, but the
next time I am in Herkimer I will make every
effort to eat there.

I have also been here. Not the greatest place ever but I do enjoy what they have to offer compared to Mitsuba and Sumo.

Foo gets their fish from the local river fisherman at the Mohawk River. I heard they will buy any local caught fish for the place.

Did you know that fish from the Mohawk River are
not only safe to eat, they are safer than most of the fish you buy from the supermarkets? If you
ever buy farm raised salmon or other farm raised
fish, you'd be better off with fish from the
river.

I have to agree with you. The sushi pieces have much more rice in them than before. Also, the bento box offerings are smaller.
