I heard he's "light in the loafers", but if you don't mind that, he's supposed to be one of the better attorneys around. He tried to convince a good friend of mine 30 or 35 years ago to stick around in "The Valley". That there was a lot of money to be made defending the locals and that the cost of living in the area would allow him to live like a king! My friend moved away anyways and still made a lot of money as a judge in another state.

George's private life should be of no concern to anyone. Valley resident's comment about being "light in the loafers" is uncalled for and totally inappropriate.

I'm not one to usually say anything good about lawyers but it would be difficult to say bad things about George. He has done more for this valley behind the scenes than most people ever will know. You see him in the news with his bigger charities and projects but most people have no clue about the things he does for people that don't get published. A good guy and a rare find around here. As for his personal life? No ones business but his own.

Have to agree 100%. I worked for George many, many years ago and couldn't have asked for a better boss. Always willing to help out any and all. As long as you treated him respectfully, he would go above and beyond what was asked of him. Really great guy. This country would be a lot better place if more lawyers were like him (of course, then we wouldn't have all the crooked-lawyer jokes - LOL).

George Aney is absolutely a great guy. He is probably the most concerned citizen in this county and does all good for it. He does so many good things for people it's impossible to fault the man. He's a genuinely wonderful human being and a brilliant lawyer to top it off.

at no charge? No idea where you got that from but far from it. he does nothing for free.

and that is the problem, his dealings behind the scenes. His brand of boss politics and unofficial control of county politics is why this county is the way it is.

Ask yourself regarding the Family Court judge race. There are three candidates. One is a female democrat with plenty of legal experience. Now, obviously George isn't going to endorse a democrat. But there are two candidates running as republicans right now. One has plenty of legal experience. But that's not who George endorsed. he endorsed Brennan, who has no legal experience except for being a law clerk for Judge Daley. A clerk. Look around at all the signs for Brennan, yet he's got no qualifications. George's plan is to get him to the stepping stone of Family court judge, then once Daly retires, move him up. This is not what we need in Herkimer and that is what Aney is pushing for. Keep that in mind when you vote.

Sure, Aney's a shrewd attorney. but be wary otherwise

Don't reply to something that you know nothing about. He certainly does provide legal services for free if he believes in a person and knows they're strapped for money. Maybe you should move on and go play on some other Topix forum where maybe you'll know what you're talking about.

maybe he used to back when you knew him so well in the closet but he certainly does not any more.

Don't reply to something that you know nothing about. Isn't there someone in your redneckville missing you?

You really should go off and play - you still are spewing stuff you know nothing about. He did legal work for a family member last year and didn't charge him a dime. And, I might add, this person had the means to pay him, but George refused to take his money.

so you're straight and an alcoholic, tobacco addicted, toothless wonder who is poorly employed. Thanks for revealing that about yourself. it really explains a lot.

nobody said anything bashing gays, so your attempt to turn it into a homophobic issue is all for naught.

I can tell you he doesn't do something for nothing. Not to mention he drives like an asshole thinking he owns the roads. He's come flying up behind my vehicle countless times on both 5 and 5S with his white Beamer GA2. Tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. Pass his office at the corner of Prospect and Church practically everyday.

well then if you didn't write cryptic and incoherent ramblings it would have made sense. All you had to say is you came out of the closet and it would make sense.
