As will AP classes such as drug dealing 101, teacher hassling 101, hidden smoking 101, unnoticed sex 101, and covert bullying 101. Right CVA? But those are secret 'self teaching classes' the administration wants to hide from the public.

herkimer- Just read that the high school principal from CVA won an
award as one of the best high school principals in the state. The
article also mentioned the new programs introduced at CVA
including ROTC and and other advanced programs. However,
none of the "AP" courses you mentioned were listed. Very
interesting! P.S. Have you ever heard the term "sour grapes"?

LOL. You really thought those were real programs? They are things students teach others among themselves. And how can a prestigious award for best principal in NYS be given to a principal whose school has only been in existence for 6 months. Some higher-up buddy of a certain someone agreeing to help slant CVA a certain way? We'll never know what they do for each other behind closed doors. Mrs. Carney won a real award last year. New York Elementary School Principal of the Year. Stop trying to push us down. We really don't care what CVA does or does not do, or about any misinformation or distortion to make themselves look good in public. We need to focus on Herkimer.

Allow me to Quote WKTV, "Renee Rudd high school principal at
CVA awarded the James E. Allen Award by the School Adminis-
trators Association of New York. The award is given to an Admin-
istrator who has made significant contributions to education and
leadership at the secondary school level..... " However, you know
that it was "some higher-up buddy of a certain someone agreeing to
help slant CVA a certain way?" Get real! P.S. Maybe that's how
Mrs. Carney won her award. Some higher-up buddy slanted things
Herkimer's way.

Just read the Telegram daily. The Media is on a campaign to promote CVA's successes no matter how small or big they may be. CVA's Union president resigned, Herkimer's coward union steward bolted to Poland. The status quo will be no more. Everybody is out of money. NYS is the demon here no one else. Let's see how great the telegrams coverage will be of CVA's new contract negotiations. I'm sure they will keep a spotlight on that little piece as CVA tries to redefine a teachers seniority.

They give that award out like candy. She organized an opening day picnic. Increase graduation rates and the global studies reagents scores to more thsn 50% passing then give her the award.

Only one elementary principal a year in all of NYS gets the award Mrs. Carney received. I don't think that's handing it out like candy. You must be a CVA organizer to try to minimize her achievement for Herkimer. We love Mrs. Carney.

Why do we always start by cutting educators?

1) close the pool. Save on liability and chemicals and maintainence. Kids hate it anyway.

2) two full time principals, one vice principal for both schools.

3) cut the AD and all assistant coaches who are bring paid

4) stop sub contracting work to outsiders . Hire maintainence who can do more than push a broom .

5) Trim any non essential business office people.

6) reduce teachers aids., lunch aids, make all secretarial positions part time.

7) eliminate sporrs that lack brisk participation

8) incentivize early retirement

9) new hires get reduced benefit pkgs

10) get rid of Cipriano

These are relatively easy to implement and we havnt touched teaching staff. Teaching staff is what the bastard BOE Hits first because they want to inflict the most painful cuts they can in order to revisit Merging in the near future.

NO. The board says they will cut teachers to get their way. Then when the vote goes through the cuts don't happen. Its a ploy to make everybody talk and still get what they want. They should shut those lights in E. Herkimer off and play games during the day or just cut sports all together that will save a ton of money!
