In the system for twenty years and this year Tangorra makes the average pay for a man in his position.

My education level is zip and I make 80k not working too hard. He can't make twice that, the average after twenty years?

What a bunch of haters.

The top never gets cut back. Who bailed the banks out? Did the CEO's still get their rediculous bonuses? It's on all levels in this country.

where do you get that Cosimo makes the "average" for superintendent?

Let's compare Cosimo $161,000 salary and 19% raise over 2 years to his local peers.

In Frankfort Robert Reina made $114,684 in 2011 up 6.6% over 2 years

In Herkimer Carol Zygo made $132,500 in 2011 up 4.7% over 2 years

In Mohawk Joyce Caputo made $142,773 in 2011 up 9.7% over 2 years

Funny how Ilion and Mohawk, the two districts lowest in both test scores and per capita income give their Sup'ts the highest raises and the highest salaries.

My mechanic @$80per hour 40hours a week makes $166k+ and I know he puts in no less than 60 hours a week ($240.00 a year). The GED sportin' grease-monkey makes a ton more than the Superintendents and the same goes for my wifes hairdresser.

You losers are shocked surprised and up in arms over a superintendents salary, amazing.

The average New York State superintendent makes $163,000 according to Robert N. Lowry Jr., the deputy director of the New York State Council of School Superintendents.

The national average is about $160,000, according to the Educational Research Service.

Are you really that stupid? I know you are not bright, but you can't be that stupid. Mechanics have high overhead. The overhead probably consists of 50+ dollars of that. But keep spewing your BS because you lost all credibility months ago.

^^ "Occasionally in your midst, a true idiot will appear." ^^

As far as your saying the average salary for a NYS school sup't is $163,000, if that is true it includes NYC Wechester Long Island not to mention Rochester Buffalo Albany & etc. Which of course pay much more.

Tell us what the average is for a school sup't in a poor upstate village with about 1600 students -- like Ilion.

Ilion schools can't afford to offer Advanced Placement classes but they can pay Cosimo $160K a year which even by your figures is substantially higher than small upstate districts.

Re your $80 / hr. mechanic, is he a solo guy running his own shop? Is he the owner and have other mechanics and a bookeeper / receptionist? Or are you talking about Monro or Skinner or Cole?

Either way. Your mechanic's expenses include shop insurance, equipment, commodities (oil, etc.), parts, manuals, training, advertising. He's got to pay his own health insurance and fund his own retirement plan. If he has employees he has payroll to make and maybe he contributes to health insurance and retirement for them.

Name one comparable expense that faces a school superintendent.

Does Cosimo pay for his health insurance and retirement out of his own pocket?

LOL. I'd like to see details of his bennies package -- and how much he is making in 2012.

How about the hairdresser? You are a funny bastard.

$50...overhead, wtf are you talking about.

I bought my equipment, yes a big expense, but not as big as paying back college loans. I have the same expenses you do except the obvious add-ons any self-employed person has. The big ones are Business ins. licensing fees, power (which is municipal) and property tax which ain't much out in the country. Much of these expenses I pay for with my mark-up on parts.

You were kidding right?

OMG...I'm pissed, I had no idea everyone but the self-employed get a retirement...:-)

My wife won't mind being call a bookkeeper, but receptionist is going to piss her off.

Bad news...I make more than they do and from time to time I pocket cash deals, that's business.

Certainly is....who is making the vote no signs and where do we pick those up? Seems the yes signs have been neatly organized!

And you know this, how? Do you do the taxes for every mechanic in the Valley and Utica to know this for certain? Doubtful you even do your own taxes. Doubtful you even have any income that you'd need to file a tax return.

I am going to use your logic... Ilion McDonalds has 2 million dollars in sales each year and they have twenty employees.(you could be one of them if you'd get off your but and do something with your worthless life). The twenty employees split that 2 million. That means that each McDonalds employee makes 100k. Since fast food workers make a 100k Cosimo deserves to make 500k a year. And you have no say in it.
