Went there the other nite and here is my honest review:
I am not bashing the place, but this is what I thought.

-colors on the walls were unattractive at first impression for a PUB.
-three bartenders to handle a small crowd not necessary and they seemed confused at times bumping into each other
-was disappointed on the food menu as there were not hamburgers or something filling other than wings and generic fried food.
-A real pub has more food to have with drinks.
-music was being played in the jukebox too loud to where we could not talk to one another at the bar...DOES NOT NEED TO BE LOUD TO ENJOY MUSIC! TURN IT DOWN OR TURN IT OFF.
-Is it a pub or Sports bar?
-Not enough tables to get a seat when coming in for the first time; seemed cramped.
-Seemed like the old Dineens bar, but cleaned up a little bit.
-Food we tasted was nothing special for a PUB

If you are into just sitting at the bar and drinking then this is a bar for you..if you are looking for a meal then eat before you go there. just another average bar with nothing out of the ordinary. Good addition to the ones we already have in Herkimer I guess.

we went there the other night and should have brought earplugs! the music was so loud our party could barely speak to one another. forget about striking up conversation with someone down the bar or something.

Belly Up, yours is a nice place except for the music. Turn the music down so that people can enjoy conversation without yelling and straining to hear ... thank you.

young kids think the louder the better and not for a place like that...we like to talk and be heard rather than just sit there staring at each other...I loved it in between songs when it was quiet.

get a better menu too and throw in some meat dishes or sandwiches... I may not bother with the place a second time unless I hear things change a bit.

The younger crowd is all that was there. Not sure if that was what she was trying for.

This place has nothing new to offer. Remember the Salty Shamrock(?) s. Washington St.? That bar had more going for it than Belly Up but eventually it went belly up. I fear this too will be the fate of Belly Up. It will become a noisy bar, start to smell like stale beer, and will fade away. Too bad, so sad.

Thought that it would be a good place to go for a few drinks and visit with friends. Can't mess up a beer but the atmosphere sucked. Music was TOO loud, the menu was disappointing. Not sure who owns the place but they need to stop, take a look around and re-evaluate what they are doing.
Too bad as I was looking forward to a nice place to go for a few drinks.

the Belly Up will succeed. the owner did very well in opening the space up by removing those awful booths and the flat screen TVs are very nice.

you can see a nice attention to detail throughout the place that will only get better as time goes by. the chalkboard drink menu behind the bar is good. the draught beer selection is excellent.

hopefully the menu will expand beyond wings and fried pickles.

overall, the Belly Up is very welcome addition to valley "nightlife" such as it is. Significant Other and I enjoyed a nice time and will return.

our congratulations to the entrepreneurs behind it.

been there three times. very good each time. friday after work, there were 8 of us. we all liked it. bar was packed each time. we are a older crew. the three times we have been there, never seen a sole under 25. no music, just tvs. for you people that havve never been to a pub, this is pretty good for herkimer. like i said before, beer is great. prices are good. just keep it away from rif raf. they have been going to some of the private clubs in the area. nice to stop after work, and have a drink with friends. this is a my take on the place. will stop there today for 1 drink, before football

Went there Friday for happy hour and not impressed. Food sucked and not much to offer, too loud music, not enough places to sit with groups and not a real pub atmosphere...just another bar.

Nothing unique about the place for older patrons.
