You know, maybe you should move to Mohawk or Ilion if you are going to keep that up. Nasty old fart.

So you don't want an increase in taxes? Why would you vote yes on the library vote then. It adds an additional tax to the school tax bill you are already complaining about. Idiot.

Good afternoon. I recall that Mohawk was told they wouldn't receive a tax increase this year! Take a look THEY DID! Wake up more and more people have found the lies and loop holes within this merger. Either way you would have a tax increase! Wake up and get on with your life!

Mohawk's taxes dropped big-time, dollars per thousand.
Ilion, who's residents were told their taxes would more than likely stay the same, increased about 38cents per thousand.

Ilion-Mohawk combined their curriculum given the kids added academic choices and cut nothing in the process.

As for the 2% increase, even with the aid package you need to adjust for cost of living.

See why you voted against the merger! lol You are clueless! Mohawk will safe around $250 on a $100,000 house, upgrade their facilities, add additional classes to their curriculum, and not have to combine with Herkimer! How can you beat that!

Herkimer (and Frankfort) were fully aware of the cuts that could possibly be involved in a "no vote" with regards to the merger. These cuts applied to both academics and sports, not to mention potential reductions of staff. It's a total shame that when the reality of decisions finally started to materialize that the current complaints are suddenly being noted!

Complaints from who? From the yes voters mostly. Let it go, it's over. Or move to Ilion. Whiner.

"Whiner"....very mature! Any stats to verify yes and no voters responses on here? As for being over, I totally agree with you at present. However, there is a very distinct possibility that in the future the state could, because of budget issues, mandate mergers. And, I have absoutely no desire to live in Ilion, but your suggestion is appreciated

Why whiner. Tell me who IS complaining. I haven't heard many complaints about it. We all voted. We all accept that slight changes must be made. The only whiners are the people who wanted EVERYTHING at the cost of ruining the village of Herkimer by leaving it with no higher elementary grades and no high school. That is not what families want in a village. If new families coming to the area wanted a large school they would choose whitesboro or new hartford. New families are moving into Herkimer because of its relative small size and school. We accept that some sacrifices need to be made.

New families moving into Herkimer? Now that's funny! Herkimer's enrollment has consistently dropped over the last 30 years, they are now smaller than Frankfort. Class D in football this year for the first time EVER!

You have no clue then. People ARE moving into Hekimer and buying houses here. Even though some of them work in Utica they prefer living in Herkimer. Maybe they just don't want to associate with a loser like you, that's why you don't know about them.
