UTICA — Big dope, now wonder why the government is shutting down, with scumbags like these.

A state Department of Transportation highway maintenance worker has been accused of stealing gasoline from a state-owned facility in Utica, state Inspector General Catherine Leahy Scott announced Monday.

William Gallagher, 42, of East Herkimer, was charged Monday with six counts of offering a false instrument for filing, all felonies, and six counts of misdemeanor petit larceny, Scott said. If convicted, he faces up to three years for each felony and one year for each misdemeanor.

Gallagher allegedly used a state card to purchase gasoline for his own personal use, Scott said. Surveillance cameras caught Gallagher filling the tank of his personal vehicle on five occasions and a gasoline container on one occasion earlier this year, she said.

Gallagher later admitted to the Inspector General’s investigators that he took the gasoline and entered false odometer data into the fuel pump in order to activate it, Scott said.

“State employees entrusted with the use of state-owned credit cards must understand that theft of public resources will not be tolerated,” Scott said.

Gallagher was arraigned in Utica City Court and is due back on Oct. 13. He has been a DOT employee since 1999.

State police assisted in the investigation, and the case will be prosecuted by the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office

Except, they will roll up all the charges down to one or two, he will plead guilty to in a deal. With no prior criminal history, he will see 5 years probation and restitution and not a single day behind bars.

Is a "benis" like a penis, only not spelt the same??

Any retirement he might be vested in will not be affected by any of this. It is unfortunate you are so insecure in your menial job that you despise government employees.
