<quoted text> You have a man held up in a building after a shooting rampage. He is NOT answering his cell phone (which was on him) he is not responding to verbal commands from the street. He is sitting in a cold abandoned building armed and ready to shoot (in fact he shot out of the building several times) Tear gas had been lobbed into it all night. I don't think it's a stretch that HE wanted to die....that HE was waiting to kill more if possible. Should the police have just let him go? Clearly you have some issues as He was the author of his own death as he could have stopped at any point in time and held his hands up....he did not...he took a shot and was then lit up...AMEN
He doesn't deserve another moment's thought.
You are an imbecile! You really need to stfu unless you have something smart to say. I don't believe it solves anything to kill anyone! He clearly had some problems and needed some help. Yes he went on a violent killing spree BUT they did not have to shoot him! They could have shot him in the arm or leg (somewhere to harm him but not cause death) and taken him. Then the families however retarded the reason, would have an answer as to why he did it. I know if my loved one was murdered I would certainly want to know why! I think everyone wants to know why that is the first thing we say to God! Why ??!!! Also I see no justice out of him being shot dead. Do the families feel good? No. He would have paid for it in prison and the rest of his lifetime in prison or even a psychiatric home! These police were clearly not trained in how to handle a situation like this. You would have seen in the papers a few days after the shootings, that they started training them in stand-off situations in case that were ever to rise again. Had they had that training more often and a lot sooner, maybe things would have played out a little differently! I said to someone that morning that this was going to end in bloodshed and the police are going to shoot him, not catch him and bring him to justice. I knew it, everyone knew it. I think the families would have loved to see him in prison and to know what his reasoning was for doing it. Ask them I am sure they will agree. So go to bed and don't come back on unless you have an intelligent comment to make on this.

I don't believe that Mr. Myers had any insight himself into why he killed. My best guess is that he was frustrated with his own shortcomings and lashing out at more successful men.

I agree with the comment about him feeling inadequate and targeting other people who he viewed as successful men.

Nothing against John's Barber Shop and Gaffeys, but there were MUCH higher profile targets available. There had to be some kind of deep seeded motive or revenge or perceived slight that festered in his mind. Who knows if he didnt have more targets in mind but then stopped short and for some reason chose an empty bar. What if he had started this later around lunchtime gone into Cangees with its normal lunchtime rummys instead?

Considering he drove past two busy convenience stores between John's and Gaffey's, this wasn't about carnage, the locations were targeted.

Village Market, Adirondack bank & Dr Rao's office were right there also. Thank God, he didn't decide to go to the school. I think there was a reason for his targeting those 2 place also.

Ok well I highly doubt that he would kill people working in a barber shop and a carwash because they were so rich or had more than him. If anything they really didn't have much at all. Come on now. And there is always a motive whether he is crazy or not he had a motive! There is always a reason... ALWAYS. Charles Manson, Uni-bomber, every killer has a motive. EVERYONE. Now all you can do is speculate and never truly know why. The families will never be at peace.

You are so stupid, thank God he is dead not one penny of my tax dollars should keep this murdering bastard alive. Kurt had no regard for human life. Maybe the families of these victims don't want to know. He shot a police dog and was ready to shoot police officers as well.

Well now...you are just showing how uneducated YOU are! Police are not trained to shoot an arm or leg....if you draw your weapon and engage the trigger you are shooting to cease all hostile activity...figure out what that means! If the threat is real,(and it was)they were totally justified in their actions (of course feel free to sue on his behalf ....it would but funny to see that in the paper!) You must be psychic...or psycho....yes the out come was predictable...because he wouldn't give up...wouldn't talk to police and continued to shoot right up until the end...feel free to tell the police their job or better yet get a freaking clue as to their training and reasons for clearing the building. HE had plenty of time and opportunity to give himself up. I doubt very much the families care why he did it....they are grieving and most likely some lame excuse is NOT going to console them. As far as I'm concerned his body should be left on the street to rot like the dirt bag he is.....God Bless the victims and the families, the police for staying up all night watching the building and those that went inside to face the bullets he was aiming at them. Perhaps your armchair quarterbacking has left you with an over inflated cranium....just make sure it's not inverted in your posterior :)
