We have further discussed the (behind) high school drug issue. We do not believe our tactics could assist in a helpful manner. We could potentially do more harm than good. It should be encouraged that parents with absent children after school, take five minutes and drive down the adjoining side street. Take a moment to ensure it's not your child. In turn, each parent that drives by helps that area lose it's luster of privacy.

Herkimer in all kind of ways is CORRUPTED. Especially the court system and cops out here. They made a book on herkimer county and how their so corrupted lol. I see the corruption in the herkimer court system and sooner or later herkimer themselves will be caught again in the crap they pull. Drug dealers haha u should be more worried being tried wrong in their system or convicted of shit u never did. Herkimer is full of corruption and I see it everyday between the system and the cops. U think these police officers are innocent out here SMH. wow u all got a lot to learn. The so called great system is convicting an innocent man of rape and not mentioning any names and THEY HAVE NO PROOF OR PAST CONVICTIONS OF HIM DOING IT. its sad the shit that goes on out here and the justice system has a bad name and cops too because they don't know their ass from their elbow. SERIOUSLY ENOUGH SAID smh.

Not to mention YES drug dealers should be punished but there's other stuff that needs to be addressed about the system herkimer has and the cops untrainedness.

Lonnie, good post. We do see your point. That is indeed a fight for another day. At the rate dealers were taking over Main st, we thought it had become a pressing issue in need of immediate attention. We hope the visibility of our actions would spur a spike in local civics swelling our local ranks.

you can pretend as if you are someone important or connected (We have further discussed...) but you are not. That much is perfectly clear.
The issue is a before, during and after school problem. There is another issue with high school kids shoplifting cold medications from Wal-Mart, getting wasted on them and going back to school. There have been many kids taken to the hospital from the school from overdoses. The school keeps it quiet and the police have not bothered to get involved either. they have drug free zone signs all around the area yet the hypocrites do nothing about it. The police have probable cause to detain these kids yet they also do nothing. The only time you ever heard of any drug problems was when a big shot name died from an overdose. That Enea kid is the only time you ever heard anything about it but other kids have overdosed and died before and after he did.

PEOPLE, This is a little off subject, but needed... We have been monitoring the streets for some time now. We set out on a specific goal of cleaning up the drug problem on Main St., but have seen so much more.

Our town lacks empathy and compassion, I myself watched 5 or 6 people walk by a half frozen homeless guy in front of Fastrac. Not one person stopped to check on his welfare. Needless to say, he received a warm hot coco and a doughnut.

We watched a garbage can filled with paper. The wind caused it to tip and the paper began to fly everywhere. Not one of the several cars or walkers stopped for one minute to assist the unknowing homeowner.

We can't grow as a community until we all realize....

Also to the gentleman point.. WE ARE NOT IMPORTANT, AND YES to some degree, we our connected by a powerful idea. See, we are just citizens, who work and pay our taxes like you. But more than that, we are awake and aware the system needs help.

You seem to have a lot of information about the school/drug issue. YOU SIR, are better suited than us to speak on this matter. PLEASE FOR OUR COMMUNITY.... Speak up and educate us all.,

Yet you just watched as well. so makes you no better. How did you assess he was half frozen? How did you assess he was homeless?

The police are well aware of the problem, as is the school, but do nothing. The school plays the denial card. There have been overdoses IN SCHOOL that parents are never told about. Other students are the ones bringing out this information.

I'm not sure how or why you would target the "bridge kids" but let me ask you a question......where do these kids get the drugs? Hmmm most of the kids are getting them straight from their own medicine cabinets at home. Parents better smarten up and learn that most kids school aged are getting their "stash" from their own homes. Once they are hooked on Mommy and Daddy's opiates or benzos its all downhill. After that they hit up Main Street, whether its the new barber shop for heroin or even that nice little Sam's Grocery that sells cigarettes to ANYONE, including 14 year olds, the problem has become bigger than life. I'm tired of hearing the "bridge kids" are evil, bad children all on drugs. This is far from the truth. Why don't you check out the jocks inside the school using pills and steroids? Why aren't we discussing them? Oh that's right because they are in sports so they would never....what a joke! This area has a huge drug problem and it has steadily increased for years now. If we don't bring in more help soon we all lose!
