Just who is going to come to Frankfort NY and build on the pumpkin patch. Come on folks lets get real. Its a great place to see deer grazing! But why would a company come to Frankfort and build anything there.
We would be better off seeing W Frankfort school closed and have a company take over the school. Lets get real who in frankfort can afford a tax hike. I know I can't. You really think a company is going to come to frankfort and be able to take up the slack in taxes.
You folk who do better go back to church and pray for the coming of christ you have a better chance meeting him then the seeing anything at the pumpkin patch.

The pressure you all in Frankfort are feeling is from the greed of some of your county legislators. Piseck, Bono, and their ilk are all looking to cash in personally on the Pumpkin Patch through IDA and the taxpayers' dime. Might want to do some research to see who owns adjoining land; might want to ask why these guys are so hot to trot on this project. It certainly isn't in the name of jobs for county residents!

Having worked for banks and investment companies on wall street for 32 years, please let me clearify one point. The proposal by the IDA and the County does not involve a tax increase. They propose to pay for the construction work by using a portion of the taxes that businesses in the pump.patch. will generate. This is not a tax increase and the town will actually be GAINING new tax revenue from the businesses that locate there. I have driven by this park and it looks like a nice spot. Time will tell. As far as the personal attacks go I am not well enough informed to comment.

If these guys were so interested in jobs, why is the West Frankfort Industrial Park which has been around for a long time being ignored? There are two companies who went out of business up there that nobody cared about. Nobody cared about the employees who lost their jobs. At one time, one of those companies employed nearly 200 people. Nary a word was heard when they went out of businesss.

Put the jail on this spot and call it good, the place is a dream for the jail, the utilities are way cheaper wouldn't bother the neighbors, the handful that live there. I just never could understand all the fawning over the old Pharmhouse property, whose hand is getting greased over the land, I don't/or haven't heard of any one even interested in the Pumpkin patch!

Jail schmail! Put down an acre of blacktop - a little office building - and have Billy "HUGE" F move an auto mall in there.

Joe Kinney was correct to stop the county from putting the jail there. When Herkimer county builds the new jail, guess what is going to go next to it? The county highway garage. Then the land used for the current garage will be opened up for more development. That will set up another PILOT program that will fill the county coffers and screw the village of Herkimer out of more tax $ just like the Walmart deal.

the Pumpkin Patch is the place for the jail!! You can spew all the talk you want about the PILOT..let's have the IDA tell us just what they have accomplished..NADA..they spend and create parks and the parks sit empty. Let's see Polus and Fiberdyn will put up a flashy sign to compete with what the IDA paid to advertise the park..two signs and no tenets. Do you call that business development? Nope it is just smoke and mirrors. Polus sells advertising on his sign and Piseck and Feene line their pockers. Just keep spending. Hats off to Kinney for not trusting them and while they fiddle Herkimer County burns and the taxpayers loose. The jail will cost a small fortune regardless of what the guys on the legislature say..watch how it goes...They want their names on a building plack...pure and simple.

That school building will sit idle and empty for at least 10 years until they decide what to do with it... They have just given themselves a new "political football". It will just keep getting kicked around with no resolution. But here's one solution: if they brick up the windows, and install cells, they'll have themselves a new jail!

this is to all of who say that the pumpkin patch is a bad idea in terms of whether or or not a company will want to come here, you are wrong. let's see what we have so far, less than 10 minutes from the thruway and rte 28, two of the major transportation hubs in the area. they not have municipal electric if i am not mistaken. that is a huge attractor to any company that wants to come in. once this last mess is sorted out they will have water and sewer already there at the site. they just need to build a building. as long as they can get a fair deal on the PILOT agreement, companies will be fighting over that sight. it might take a while for frankfurt to get their money back, but they will get it back and they will also see a business close to frankurt that will employ people both from the village and the surrounding area. even if the people who work there are not from frankfurt, they may stop there and spend money in the local businesses, this is also a good thing for the village. i really wish schools taught kids about real economics before they let them graduate. if you don't understand how business works, then how can you bitch about it? who on earth would want that school for something like a chip fab plant? they would not only have to build a new building, they would be stuck with the costs of demolition. why do that when something like the pumpkin patch is right there ready to go?

All those are great ideas for business at the pumpkin patch..and when you put the jail there you save the taxpayers even more. Let's see why no jail at the pumpkin patch....there is enough land for business and the jail..they could all survive there.the land is already off the tax rolls. Is it Manno or Berzinski Bono blocking it? Maybe they are in it together. What do they get for it..we know what we get..screwed.
