WKTV ran this story on january 31 at 4:45pm. The next morning they changed the story probably after getting calls from the Tangorra clan to make him look better. Here it is, click on it and you will see the cached Google page with the full story before it was changed.

Here is the story, just in case they found a way to strongarm Google like they did WKTV and get rid of the cached page as well.

Title was: "Superintendent: If Remington Arms were to leave, little impact on tax revenue for a combined school district"

ILION, N.Y.(WKTV)- Thursday night marks the public's last chance to get their questions answered and get information on the Mohawk-Ilion school merger vote taking place within the next two weeks. Thursday's meeting is being held at 6pm at Ilion High School. If approved at the February 12 vote, the two districts would become one as of July 1, 2013. There has been some buzz over how a possible Remington arms departure could impact the reorganization of the districts. Ilion Superintendent Cosimo Tangorra says the only change would be the tax revenue, and it's small. "Currently, Remington Arms pays about 1.4 percent of a total levy in the Ilion Central School District," Tangorra said. "That same amount, if it was paid, to combine Ilion and Mohawk, it would be less than one percent. While we don't want to lose any tax revenue, it's not as if they pay that much." The reconfiguration would result in an elementary school in both districts, a middle school in Mohawk and a high school in Ilion.

The original was not accurate because of the way they first edited it. To correct it, they included more of the original video - they did not 'make up' anything for anybody.

Remington would be contributing less than 1% to the school budget, about $46,000. Although the loss of the company would devastate the area, it would not create a huge budget shortfall to the merged district. What would hurt the schools is if we stay separate, and enrollment drops even more, both districts will be devastated - people who work for Remington live throughout the Valley, not just in Ilion, and enrollment would drop everywhere and cut state aid (tied to enrollment) even more. If Remington closed, the merger could become even more important for our survival.

Maybe it's time to watch WUTR if WKTV fcks up so much. Why even call them for a story. Rejects.
