Referendum vote for Ilion-Mohawk school merger likely next month

A referendum vote on merging the Ilion and Mohawk School Districts will likely take place by mid-February, according to education officials.

I think that once this goes through that herkimer and Frankfort no voters will be a tad quiet...hey thanks for the tax break and enjoy your taxes going up....thank god my kid goes to ilion and has an EDUCATION that will prepare her for college..also any sports program or ap courses that help her freshman year at a college..So thanks to ditch digger high and can i take your order tech...We from ilion thank you!!!

herkimer resident i presume with your spelling..here is some math pizza boy pay attention....fica up 2.5% your village tax up anywhere from 10% to 40%..county looking around 1.75% state if passed 3.5% on your average school tax to maintain 20% plus add it up moron...can't because you went to can i take your order tech...if you made 50 k thats 375 dollars a month extra good luck...

The whole thing cost us time but we are alright. Frankfort and Herkimer can't say they weren't given the opportunity. Frankfort bailed out early and Herkimer voted their way out. Lucky breaks for us. We have little reason to be upset with them.

If I lived in Frankfort I'd be mad and if I lived in Herkimer I'D BE PISSED!!! They got screwed by their own.

Many point at pizza-boy and don't get me wrong his was DUMB. But he was one of about 15 losers that were instrumental in holding back or providing misinformation.

Wasn't for the other two mergers, but will vote in favor of this one. From the beginning, I always thought that Ilion-Mohawk made the most sense economically, demographically, and educationally.

Once you see how much less incentive aid they will get compared to when it was a 4 school merger and then a 3 school merger you will realize why Cosimo was pushing for the larger mergers. Now he'll just take what he can get, he'll get a raise although he's still pissed that it won't be as large as he could've gotten, and the incentive aid will barely be enough to stabilize the schools for the first 5 years, but he'll still get that raise, cus that's the way Cosimo is. Then more money will be needed from this new district's taxpayers to keep the subsidized school's programs, and it will be more than is required now. By then Cosimo will have made a nice resume and found a new job and he won't care about that. Good luck.

How are the changes to the the existing 3 way merger study being handled?

Who is making the changes and with what public input?

To about the money....we get 42 million a year still to run a two school district...and cosmo has to get voted in...with what it cost to run the two school's now is only 30 million thats a surplus of 12 million compared to your negative can i take your order tech school....so stop with the same argument about raise..as for who goes where ilion will be senior high jarvis jr 7-8...more than likely...

Same as people and same public input as the first two studies. Only minus the Frankfort and Herkimer azzhools. Keep looking...
