Burrito Jonz will open, oh yeah really -- WHEN?

Burrito Jonz received $15,000 from the county IDA waaaaaay back in April and to date little has been done other than hanging a sign in the window.

this is looking more and more like a scam and a misuse of taxpayer funds.

Are John Winter and John Piseck in the same circle jerk?

Look in the window. The place is being built. It would help if the Village would get their business shit together and give the man the equipment loan he applied for this summer.

first off its not the village responsibility to fund equipment. For any business and for a business who already bilked taxpayers for 15000 of county money they should be ashamed asking the village for 45000 more in loans. Ask the bank for money apparently they don't think its a wise business decision yet the village is suppose to.give me a break is this guy investing any of his own money.or is this a scam by a few to help out giving money to a friend of the connected.you decide. But know that people are watching this transpire and know the obligations required to get an ida grant .if he isn't open for 3 yrs he has to pay that back, of course that will never happen nor would he pay back a village loan. Just look st the track record. People can easily recognize this is a scam plain and simple. Viable and smart businesses don't have to get loans and grants. The government should stay out if this game as we all see where they get us. Businesses that have ridiculous tax breaks and low interest loans with no accountability. And all for what? A few low paying jobs at a taco shack. Go figure

When the government is responsible for financing businesses, we are no longer talking about capitalism. This sounds like some whacky liberal socialist scheme.

Well probably not ...I mean who gets a loan from a bank when your buddies tell ya they have a way you can scam 60000 from county and village taxpayers. This is a straight up scam and taxpayers should ne outraged by this .talk about a scam this burrito guy needs to open his own business and if he doesn't last 3 yrs he Damn well better be held to paying back the 15000 he already scammed from. Ida for a store that isn't open or isn't planning to anytime soon.gees ida can't I get a grant I promise I will open a hit dog stand in 2015 and put two lids to work for 5 bucks an hour. If your handing out money I want to ne next. Your trusted government at work people wake up Herkimer ....hell id rather see them give to the school or back to the taxpayers they stole it from in the first place

I read where this Dave Griffith made glowing recomendations about how great and feasible it would be to provide all this money to Jonz. I know this guy. He claims to have some expertise in business practices. I would not let him advise me on what kind of toothpaste to use. If he made the recomendation (after a study he did) I wonder what he was smoking and if he brought "brownies" for the board meeting.

the best thing John Winter the owner of Burrito Jonz could do is to abscond to Mexico with his $15,000 from the IDA...

...and his $20,000 from the village of Herkimer...

...and learn how to make a REAL BURRITO!

He's s dope addict amid apparently must be trying to run another scam. Wonder what his cut of the first 15to grand was. This story just gets funnier and funnier especially when you really find out all the players names.thought it was a back door scam from the beginning,...now I know it is .

The Village of Herkimer doesnt have a good track record in giving money and support to so called businessmen! Remember that Matt something or other who was going to save Main Street, bring in a starbucks and develop collge housing! All he did was spruce up some crappy apartments hire a gun wielding felon to manage it then skip town! Please Village Board stick to what you know keeping strip clubs off Main Street Jack Noll has no soul!

I have owned a small biz in the village for many years, hired employees, took out loans at the local banks and never got any grants or insider loan deals. If a commercial bank won't lend then it is a red flag that the business concept is shaky. Why should i go to main street for a burrito when they sell them in the frozen section at Walmart and Hannaford's. The joke of the century is that these guys got a 15000 grant when that money could have been spread around helping existing viable businesses that have provided long term employment and steady jobs not some flash in the pan burrito dream. Who are the geniuses who are so business savvy that they can tell this is a great investment of public money- politicians ha!!!!!. Mr Taxpayer watch this joke closely and hold all politicians that are for this joke accountable

In Herkimer County? That will never happen. Voters here do whatever the machine tells them to do.
