It will be voted on next week

Smiling...

Your taxes would have been lower.
Mohawk residents now saw a 15+% decrease in the true value tax rate compared to 2012-13. Actually I believe their tax break ended up over 16+%.

As for mandarin and opportunities...CVA now has the combined course options of both Mohawk and Ilion. The combined course list is greater than either school offered separately.

Our contract looks as it did previous years. Actually it look almost identical to herkymers.

And, seeing you're so interested here's another fact...
CVA balanced their budget, while reducing debt.

Herkimer and Frankfort made program cuts the past two years and several years prior.

Ain't facts a bitch?

Time will tell what great masters of the budget you are after the incentive money is gone and the newly negotiated teachers contract is complete. Appearances can be deceiving. At least Frankfort and Herkimer districts are living within their means .

Time will tell??? TIME AS TOLD...

THESE are APPEARANCES...
It appears CVA teachers will be getting no more than teachers in the valley have ever gotten.
It appears CVA has giving their children and community a fighting chance.
It appears if the state aid continues to decrease or stay the same, Herkimer and Frankfort will die a slow (cost of living) death.

These are facts...

CVA now has the combined course options of both Mohawk and Ilion. The combined course list is greater than either school offered separately.

Mohawk residents now see an approximate 15 percent decrease in the true value tax rate compared to 2012-13. Actually I believe the tax break ended up larger.

CVA's budget IS balanced, while reducing debt.

Incentive money is given to the school yearly, our kindergarten class of 2014 will be in college by the time the incentive money ends.

Herkimer and Frankfort ARE DYING WITHIN THEIR MEANS making program cuts the past two years and several years prior.
__________

You were a fk retard before and you're a bigger retard now.

WE ARE ALL HOPING for a MONEY MIRACLE.
We merged and you chose not to.
If a MIRACLE comes we are ALL saved, if it doesn't you will be absorbed without fanfare or say.

We can live with it either way, can you?

Yes, but one thing that is not deceiving is the fact that Herkimer is about to lose some good students to other schools, sadly. If they'll even tell you the truth, call and ask. At last count, it was 15 just from middle school. Right around 10%, and that number could climb before the summer is over. How will that bode for a school system with already abysmal performance, when top students transfer out? No crystal ball here, but betting on a forced merger or some sort of dissolution of the school in 3-5 years unless things turn around overnight. Bash CVA all you want. Buying some time is better than giving up completely. I really hope I'm wrong. Herkimer was a good school at one time and it would be a good success story to see the system bounce back somehow.

Herkimer is definitely in financial trouble. At least 2 teachers that I know of were cut late in June, altering/downsizing what students can take and how often (a "waterdown"). This is going to get worse and worse each year. On the other hand, there is none of this going on at CVA. Their programs and course offerings are solid and they can afford to pay their staff to teach in their areas of certification. No cuts in programs or staff. Just saying....

Wow. More cuts. So more cuts and good students leaving. How can parents not be nervous at all about this?

They can call themselves anything they want.
They are thinking of calling themselves ESCS...The Elite School of Combined Studies because "CVA" now has the combined course options of both Mohawk and Ilion.
Or maybe they will call themselves The CV COLLEGE for TEENS.

But they will probably stay with CVA, why change the sign.

HERKIMER
After the Herkimer High School students heard the district’s 2014-15 budget included more cuts, students took to the street.

“I think that when the Herkimer central school district decided not to merge the public knew there were going to have to be some cuts and choices made,” said district Superintendent Robert Miller.
WRONG...They had no idea. They thought the district was over spending and they were being lied too. You missed the Tutty meeting the week after the vote. They were going to fix everything. There was only ONE meeting, too funny/sad. You should have been in the room with that brain-trust. Less than half of Herkimer pay taxes and less than half of Herkimer have a brain.

“We are angry. We are furious at Gov.(Andrew) Cuomo and our government who think that education is a game,” students chanted Thursday morning as they marched to the corner of West German and Church Streets.“The Herkimer Central School District is dying.” said Students.
Isn't this the same corner your dumbazz parents stood on to get you in this mess?

Yes it is the same corner.
If educationally challenged, study hall fingering students are "smart enough" they will save their signs. Do to Budget cuts, the $20 needed for picket signs will be the first of many cuts in 2015-16. In other words, In less than "nine months" it will be "May" again and they'll needing those signs..........again.
