People are so ignorant.. they have no clue where to post their opinions in the "Vote No" thread. I am also sad to have to read BS that they pull out of themselves in order to make a point that makes no sense. I am not even gonna comment because it is not worth it lol.

When the votes come out on September 12 with the majority NO!, the people who voted yes should not not put their heads down in sadness or shame. They should see it as a second chance for the Herkimer School District. It should be seen as people speaking up against the corrupt unions and failed administration which have been milking and mismanaging the school's financials. It should be seen as a new start. I wish when the No's win, the school could hand out pink slips to EVERYONE and hold two days for everyone to submit new applications and rehire positions based on new contracts and new, more realistic, pay structure and benefit plans. The teachers who want to come back with the new terms are welcome to, and the other can just move to somewhere else. I'm sure their positions can be filled by talented, willing people. Then all will be well. But I doubt anyone on top would have the guts to commit 'employment suicide' and actually do that. But at least voting NO will give them enough push to actually get enough guts to figure out something. VOTE NO!

First of all, you have posted in the wrong thread. This thread is clearly titled "Vote YES To The Three-District Merger!" and it is for conversations dealing with people who are in AGREEMENT of the merger. There is nobody here looking to change anybodies opinion. So please, go comment in the "Vote No" thread.

Secondly, you mean when the majority vote is "Yes" that you and all the other ignorant people who posted in the wrong thread and have been stamping your feet will begin to put your heads down in sadness and shame. And when it is officially passed in October, then and only then, will we ridicule you. But you will be hiding from this and you will be supportive of it and act like you voted yes. Typical bureacratic people. This is a second chance for ALL the school districts. If this gets passed down then a third chance will happen and failures will continue, with money loss everyday and people like you who don't know whats going on.

If you want someone to stand up against these so called "corrupt authorities" then why aren't you standing up? I hear of nobody doing such thing. I have seen about 50 signs throughout the valley saying "Vote YES to Merger!" and only 2 saying "VOTE NO TO MERGER" which one was bought and the other one, on German St., is spray-painted on a piece of old wood. That also goes to show what kind of people are going to vote no.

Do you sit in on budget meetings? Do you voice your opinion? You seem to know a lot about "milking." Maybe before you make accusations you should sit in on a budget meeting and voice your opinion, and ask questions.

The rest of what you says makes no sense, and won't be commented on because it would be a waste of time. PLEASE comment in the right thread next time. And if you cannot handle this, then I at least know the type of intelligence of the "no"-voters out there.

This is no propaganda thread, and you are not imposing. You just clearly either don't know where to post your opinions, or you do know where to post them but you maintain a minimal intelligence to not post in the correct threads. As for propaganda, this thread is in no way shape or form trying to change people's opinions. It is also not trying to persuade somebody to vote or act a certain way. It is clearly and solely for the discussion of the people who are in favor of the merger.

PLEASE, comment in the appropriate thread. If you cannot handle this, then I will understand the intelligence of the people who will vote "no" a little more clearer.(i.e. You being my main example). Thanks!

First of all, you have posted in the wrong thread. The people that want to vote "NO" can comment in the thread pertaining to the against-the-merger conversations. I am amazed at how many people with this minimal intelligence keep commenting in this thread. I also take note that they are the ones who are voting NO on September 12th. Coincidence?

Secondly, this is not "my" thread.. nor have I ever called it "my" thread. This thread wouldn't be empty, it would be filled with the people who are in support of the merger. However, it is over-flowing with ignorant unintelligent people like yourself who comment in the wrong thread.

Okay, so let me pick apart your sentence, "So our opinions are precisely what is keeping your thread alive."

1. Again, this is not "my" thread and was never called "my" thread.
2. Again, your opinion means nothing here because you have commented in the wrong thread.
3. If you are against the merger, then why would you (and the others) keep this thread 'alive'? You are con-merger and you are keeping a pro-merger thread alive.(THIS MAKES NO SENSE!)

Did you see what I did there?

& Finally, see it what way exactly? The only way I see it is the unintelligent people commenting in the wrong thread, and they keep commenting in the wrong thread when it was stated a number of times that they post in the wrong thread.

This thread is for the people who want to talk about their decision of "Yes" and it it's purpose is not to change the minds of the people who vote "No". However, the people who are voting no, are the only ones on here trying to persuade when it was mentioned several times it is not that type of thread. And the only ones on here who get hot and stamp their feet in a temper tantrum are the ones who are voting no.

I really understand who the unintelligent people are in this side of the debate and how much common sense they have.

If you vote YES for the school merger, you will definitely be on here in a few years complaining even more about kids with nothing to do getting into trouble because they didn't make certain teams because there are too many kids trying out, so now they have nothing to do. You'll also be complaining about how the cops aren't arresting them because they can't start arresting kids and besides, there is no more room in the county jail. You'll then also complain how the new county jail will cost so much money, and how you are mad that more cops are needed and that taxpayers have to pay for them. Then you'll complain how your property value went down because the neighborhood is going to shit because of all this. Then you'll also complain how your school taxes are going up because the new superschool needs more money after 6 years because all the programs they came up with cannot continue now that it's time for the incentive aid to start diminishing. Then you'll shit your pants when you find out that Tangorra just got another raise and is now making over a quarter million a year instead of the $170,000 he is making now, and you are stuck with your $20,000 a year social security check. Then you'll realize that there are nothing but college houses, section 8 housing, and crackhouses around you, because all the decent families sold their house and moved to Ilion or Mohawk because the electric bill is much cheaper there, and there is no incentive to stay in Herkimer since their kids will continue to go to the same school because it no longer matters where you live they all go to the same place. And finally you realize you should have voted NO at the merger vote six years ago. You are going to complain no matter what, but at least in two weeks you can choose not to complain about all this. Vote NO on the straw vote and end this circus once and for all.

I am clearly answering to the ones who have posted in the WRONG thread. It so happens to be that they all want to vote no. It is not my thread. It did not say created by: VOTE YES. I do not call it my thread, I don't own it, and just because I comment in it doesn't mean it is mine. What kind of reasoning is that? The same unintelligent reasoning that the "no"-voters have given me so far.

If someone can give me AT LEAST ONE good reason why I should vote no, then I will be amazed. The only reasons I have heard have been complete horses*!t and make no sense.

I am not claiming that you and the others post in the wrong thread. I am telling you, to yourself, that you have posted in the wrong thread. Because the purpose of this thread is for the people who vote "yes" to the merger, and not for unintelligent people like yourself to try to argue the voting. Thats what makes people like you ignorant, and thats what causes chaos in society. Fighting will get you nowhere, just like your opinion in this thread.

I can vote yes if I want, and I will.

First, you have posted in the wrong thread. This thread's purpose is for the people who agree with the merger to converse about why they agree with it. Not for ignorant people like yourself to comment about why to not vote about it. You can post in the appropriate thread that is against the merger. If you cannot handle this then it shows me the intelligence of the people who are voting "no."

Secondly, I will not be the one on here complaining, because once the merger is one, it will be people like you who will be crying & complaining.

Just because your son doesn't make the team does not mean they will turn to violence and drugs. There is other opportunities and as a parent you should be the one taking care of the situation. The merger won't cause this, it is the unfit parents who cause this. Without the merger, THERE WILL BE NO MORE SPORTS TEAMS. SPORTS TEAMS ARE NOT MANDATORY WITHIN HIGH SCHOOLS.

They are trying to pass legislation to build a bigger jail. I obviously do not agree with this, because instead of that money towards the jail, it should go to activities such as a nice YMCA or a Gym where these kids can go to get off the streets when the negligent parents don't care.

The neighborhood won't go down with the bigger school. If anything, it will go up. For example. If there are nice homes on your street, 100-300K homes, then your property value goes up. With a bigger district, all home values will rise, not fall.

The incentive aid will not diminish after 6 years. With only 2/3 schools that are currently open, the other two schools will gain more incentives. Especially with the high school being so big, it will gain millions more than what it has now.

Tangorra isn't promised a job. When the new school is merged, the Board of Education positions will be re-elected and a new superintendent will arise.

It would definitely not be the mergers fault to be the reason why there are poor-houses in Herkimer. Those houses have been here and will alway stay here.

I'm not complaining, but i'll definitely be voting yes.
