it is a new day. the american dream is no longer to work hard be honest and make a good living.it is just to survive. the average small business owner can no longer survive the taxation rules and undercutting of new york state. And understandably in todays economy people go for cheap not quality. The small business owner can not compete with the wal-marts of the state. the state charges the small business for the .very air they breathe so no matter how hard working and honest and and well meaning a person is it does not mean they will survive. New york state hates small business and makes it damn near impossible for them to survive. so you will see more and more of good people either closing businesses or leaving new york. So what will be left. the low paying or part time places like wal-mart . or people who just cant survive without welfare, even if they are hard workers. New york is in a sad state. good bye small personable caring businesses along with family t.v. kids playing outside, respect, and pet rocks you are a long gone era.

You are so right, New York does hate small business's!! They try to do everything to put them out of business or put them through hell. A friend of mine owns a small business in New Hartford, just about a year ago they actually questioned her about her payroll? They asked her if she included what the employees ate and asked if she included that in their wages. They considered it income...are you kidding me. She told them they were allowed one soft drink and one slice of pizza, anything else they had to pay for. They made a huge deal over it, putting her through hell. They even called and asked the employees. I couldn't believe it!!!...but that NY for ya..tripping over a dollar to pick up a penny!!

She actually had to go back 3 years and figure out what employees ate and include it as income!!! They said she should keep better records and log it down each day!!

People in the Valley caused her to close down as times have changed for shopping. Eventually you will have one place to shop and do everything and get everything. hmmmmm..walmart the real devil????

Just look at every business and see if you could not find something similar at walmart...food, clothing, electronics, paint, hardware and on and on.

The one thing that walmart does not have it good quality made products, as they could not survive as people would not buy, as they are used to the cheap crap they do actually carry.

Remove China, and remove walmart and most other big box chains feeding off the cheap consumer.

The general public is slowly being choked to the point of death and its coming sooner than thought.

most stores at least can file for bankruptcy if need be.
