I've eaten breakfast and lunch at Heidelberg in Herkimer and it was good. I enjoy the bread, especially the raison bread and chiabatta rolls. I love the scones, too, but today I bought cannolis there (what the hell was I thinking!? Buying Italian pastries in a German bakery?!?) and they were BAD. I ended up throwing them away. I forgot Mom's advice: In a German restaurant, take the wurst, leave the cannoli.

got 2 loaves of multi grain last week to take to Va. Worst bread ever! It was sliced as usual, however the texture was sticky like raw and full of hard chunks, holes and voids. It was impossible to separate the slices since they all were completely stuck together and crumbled as we tried to separate them. My family looked forward to get this usually fine bread ,
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! and it aint cheap either.
I hope the pigeons didn't sick..

we've never gotten a bad loaf from Heidelberg and we've had many hundreds. sorry for your experience but it must have been an aberration.

Heidelberg breads are fantastic and I think fairly priced. the other day we got three *huge* loaves for just $7.75 --$2.58 a loaf for outstanding, fresh, locally made bread

you can spend more than $2.58 a loaf for crappy mass produced Wonder bread or similar at Hannaford! and the Heidelberg loaves are larger, heftier and more substantial that than crap bread at the supermarket. you're actually paying less per ounce.

Heidelberg is a true local gem. they are even open seven days a week. the lunches and dinners they serve at the nice little restaurant are excellent. so are the pies pastries cakes and coffees.

for those who have never been, pay a visit!

They dont make them they come in frozen all they do is thaw them overnight on a open not covered tray so you get fake cannoli that had flies all over them. No wonder they tasted bad. lol

This is truely the worst company to work for and the worst place to eat. Every worker there comes to work high on something and they allow it. They hire felons and addicts and let them do what they want. There is no end to the stuff that goes on in there. The cook is not even a cook she is a high school student who is lazy and doesnt put any effort into making something good. She should go work at mcdonalds not in a cafe. Her food is horrible.
