What do you think happens in giant food factories and meat packing plants? Do you do your job 100% correctly 100% of the time? Don't you think that the dirtbag cooking your burger/gourmet meal might be a pathetic asswipe whom takes out their frustration with their life by blowing their nose on your entree? These tings happen, not every time, but more than you want to think about.

The day girls bake the pastries and leave icing, dough, all the ingredients out, uncovered, for the flies to make more maggots in. Then re-use the same ingredients the next day, and the next and the next. They drop eggs on the floor and just leave them, guess what? more maggots! I have seen more maggots there than in any garbage can.

They have NO sanitizing solutions for utensils, no sanitizing cleaners for any surfaces as required by the state.... I could go on and on. I did turn them in. Didn't even hesitate. I would NEVER ever buy anything from there. I gag just thinking about the filth, its NO exaggeration.

Just to compare... Herkimer Foods in Ilion, the cheese factory , is cleaned spotless each and every night. You could literally eat off the floors. I buy from there all the time... and yes I've been in the back end of that factory as well.

Fred used to work at Heidelberg. So did the owner of Adelines Bakery in Dolgeville. Both do a great job with their breads, rolls, and desserts!

OKAY, my X used to work there & I seen that they used to dry their bread outside while trucks drove by the road; kicking dust up into the air onto the bread. Once it rained & they rushed the dirty road-dust bread inside & dryed it by a huge dust covered fan. This is a true story!! I love their bread too, but knowing what I know it really is hard to swallow!!

the dr is right the bread is great noone has died from it if u thought bout that stuff u would never eat out u would have to grow everything your self all food places have a story and exemployees with horror stories for most part thats what they are keep eating the bread its great

Fred's bread sucks. We have been seeing his truck at Heidleberg's a lot recently though. Maybe he's taking lessons from the baker there. Or, maybe he buys their bread and sells it in his store.

WRONG idiot!!!! I worked for one of the cleaning companies they CONTRACTD to clean their disgusting "bakery " at night when the place was all quiet. I was never an employee of Heidelberg. We saw more disgusting practices there than anywhere we cleaned. This is by far the absolute worst. They have nothing, nada, zip, zilch to clean with. The state requires food preparation equip to be cleaned with a quaternium cleaner. The owner handed us a bottle of Mr. Clean!

Believe me the place is a nightmare and I cringe every time I hear people say they eat their food....'scuse me I need a barf bag...

The same thing goes on everywhere. If you looked in the back you'd never eat out. I worked at a Subway Sub shop and my boss made me rinse off the mold on the tomatoes and still serve them. My friend worked at McDonalds and said that some of the teens would rub the buns on their privates before serving them. I guess if you really think about it, we should all stay home and cook our own food!

I've been in lots of restaurants, bakeries, food processing plants because that is the nature of my work. I have never been an employee of any, I'm an independant contractor so I couldnt care less about them or carry a grudge, there's no reason for me to do so.

I will tell you since the very first visit to Heidelburg, I will never eat ANYTHING from that place, ever. Its as disgusting as described above. I too witnessed the fruit flies, the maggots, the uncovered flour bins, the employees dropping dough/bread on the floor and putting it right back into production. I also witnessed the most unsanitary conditions I have ever experienced anywhere. You don't want to buy from them, trust what these ppl are saying. Its all true.

And for those of you who say you never got sick from their products? How's that slight headache? Diarrhea yesterday? Upset tummy? You dont necessarily have to have a fever or be deathly ill to be sick from something you ate. Think about it. The place is the worst!
